The US Leads the World in Global Competitiveness

Sometimes I feel bad about treating these stories as breaking news. After all I’m sure this has been plastered ALL OVER THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA.

The United States tops the overall ranking in The Global Competitiveness Report 2007-2008. Switzerland is in second position followed by Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Finland and Singapore, respectively.

The rankings are calculated from both publicly available data and the Executive Opinion Survey, a comprehensive annual survey conducted by the World Economic Forum together with its network of Partner Institutes (leading research institutes and business organizations) in the countries covered by the Report. This year, over 11,000 business leaders were polled in a record 131 countries.

I mean you did see this on the nightly news, didn’t you?

I haven’t had a chance to read the report myself, but I didn’t want to be way way behind on this .

You are way too late Rob, this has been the feature stories on NPR, Pub. Tel, CNN, and MSM’s for days now. The Dem’s half-dozen presidential candidates will be all over this one telling the American people things are really good--stop whining.

If the MSM mentions it at all, it will be from their Progressive/Socialist/Commie perspective--"competitive, yes, but on the backs of underpaid workers, driven to the brink by overpaid bourgeois Republican managers”
