The Sexually Explicit Foley Communications Were Sent To A Different Page

This is news to me.  I had thought that all the communications sent were to the one sixteen-year-old page from Louisiana.

The emails that the leadership knew about were from one page, the 16 year old. The St. Petersberg Times knew about these, and even spoke to the page in question, but chose not to run with it. The kid’s parents apparently wanted it kept quiet.

The more sexually-explicit IM’s—the ones in which a teen seems receptive to Foley’s overtures (not that that makes it right, etc.)—were only recently disclosed, and were written to an entirely different teenaged boy.

So: The Republican Leadership does not seem to have known anything about the truly sexual IM’s—the ones in which it appears cybersex occurs—and in fact does not even seem to have known about the boy with whom these IM’s were exchanged.

Quite right.

It would seem to this observer that attempts by Democrats and their allies in the media to turn the Foley matter into a campaign issue against Republicans in general just isn’t going to work.

Enough was known that other pages were warned to be careful of Foley..

aNON: As the facts continue to come out, it isn’t even necessarily true that this is a law enforcement matter.  Somehow, this all sounds familiar.  Plamegate? Haditha?
Why should we believe anything we hear and see in the MSM?

If govt control of the economy were the way to go, the Soviet Union would be the richest, most powerful nation in the history of the world.

Thanks to Obama, America remains the only country where it is illegal to drill our own oil!

I don’t think the Dems will be able to get more than a couple of days propaganda out of this.

I was washing Fox News earlier own today and they had information of a former page they interviewd explaining how it Foley habits were common knoledge, that they were told about it, and that he didn’t get any emails from Foley but that he knows of three former pages that did get such e-mails from Foley.

Where is that Dem tolerance of “alternate lifestyles”?

aNON,

Hopefully, we haven’t gotten to the point that we believe it when we hear that someone heard that someone heard that someone heard something and it is treated like real news. Oh, wait. Sorry, the demos and the MSM already do that. Too late.

Pilgrim, Fox News just interviewd the guy live on TV a few hours ago.  He was a page.

ABC is on it too, ..take a look pilgrim:

GOP Staff Warned Pages About Foley in 2001

Matthew Loraditch, a page in the 2001-2002 class, told ABC News he and other pages were warned about Foley by a supervisor in the House Clerk’s office.

Loraditch, the president of the Page Alumni Association, said the pages were told “don’t get too wrapped up in him being too nice to you and all that kind of stuff.”

Staff members at the House Clerk’s office did not return calls seeking comment.

Some of the sexually explicit instant messages that led to Foley’s abrupt resignation Friday were sent to pages in Loraditch’s class.

Loraditch says that some of the pages who “interacted” with Foley were hesitant to report his behavior because “members of Congress, they’ve got the power.”  Many of the pages were hoping for careers in politics and feared Foley might seek retribution.

Loraditch runs the alumni association for the U.S. House Page Program, and he is deeply concerned about the future effects this scandal could have on a program that he sees as a valuable educational experience for teens.

Foley’s Behavior No Secret on Capitol Hill

October 1, 2006— It turns out Foley’s obsession with 16- and 17-year-old male pages has been known to Republicans on Capitol Hill for at least five years.

But other than issue a warning, little else seems to have been done about the congressman.

...

Matthew Loraditch says pages were told to watch out for Foley.

“It was a slight cautionary statement, you know, ‘Don’t get too wrapped up in him being too nice to you and all that kind of stuff.’ You know, ‘He’s a nice guy, but he’s a little bid odd,’ and that sort of thing,” Loraditch said.

ABC News has obtained Internet messages sent by Foley to three different pages after that warning.

Two of them were sent to pages in the 2001-2002 class, with sexually explicit messages, most too graphic to be broadcast, from Foley using the screen name Maf54.

Maf54: To be honest, I am a little to interested in you. So that’s why I need to back off a little.

Teen: Ya slow things down a little im still young…like under 18. don’t want to do anything illegal…im not 18.

Maf54: cool..dont forget to measure for me.

A reference to his request that the page provide the measurements of his sexual organ, a request he repeatedly made to another page as well.

Foley to a Page in 2001:

cool ..don’t forget to measure for me (i.e. measure his penis for Foley)

aNON: What do you have against “alternative lifestyles”?  With no underlying crime, all you have here is gay smear.  It’s not like he was running a gay escort service out of his house…(Barney Frank’s “partner”)

Here’s what I said before, ..its the Feds Foley has to worry about:

FBI Opens “Preliminary Investigation” of Foley

The FBI has opened a “preliminary investigation” of disgraced former Congressman Mark Foley over the sexually explicit Internet messages he sent to congressional pages, all male high school students under the age of 18.

...

rob, your critisize me for assuming, but you certainly do plenty of it yourself.  The fact they were all males is irrelevant to me.
