The “Rob Would Rather Be Playing Wii” Open Thread

I’ve never been much on open threads, and they don’t exactly work in this blog since you can all just write whatever posts you want to here anyway, but it’s Saturday night, I’m tired and I’d just as soon be playing Nintendo than blogging.

So, have at it.

I thought you told me that Wii was for your daughter.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Things change.

When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

I’ll be honest with you, when I bought that thing I wasn’t planning on spending as much time playing it as I do.

A somewhat minor news event yesterday--
Federal court upholds ‘One state under God’ in Texas http://www.heralddemocrat.com/articles/2007/09/07/texas_news/state14.txt

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott today prevailed in federal court, where a North Texas couple tried to prevent schoolchildren from reciting the Texas Pledge of Allegiance. A federal district judge ruled against David Wallace Croft and his wife, Shannon, who sought a preliminary injunction because the Texas Legislature recently added the words “one state under God” to the state Pledge. Solicitor General Ted Cruz argued on the state’s behalf.

Except for the implications of further athiestic attempts to purge God out of our society, what caught my attention was the name of the plaintiffs.  I had known David Croft for a number of years when I was active with the Libertarians.  So far as I know, he still is a Libertarian.  If this action represents current Libertarian philosophy, it’s almost tragic to see how far they have fallen.

The Supreme Court is a bunch of black robed tyrants
