The Question Nobody Seems To Be Asking The Democrats

If we’re going to defund the war (effectively bringing it to a hault) in March of 2008, as the Dems current plan calls for, why not do that right now?

The Democrats have told us, in no uncertain terms, that Iraq is a lost cause.  That it’s a quagmire.  A hopeless mess from which victory cannot be extracted.  We’ve heard this from everyone on the left from Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi to Jack Murtha and Harry Reid.  I’m not sure that a congressional Democrat, outside of Joe Lieberman, has expressed any positive feelings on Iraq since at least 2004.  So if the Democrats, as a whole, feel that Iraq is going to awful why don’t they end the war now?  Why put off losing in Iraq, which they see as inevitable, for another year?

Why force our troops to fight and die on the battlefield for another year in a war these Dems have no intention of allowing this country to win?
