Since you seem to regard yourself as an expert in these matters, perhaps you can explain why oil prices started to decline immediately after President Bush’s announcement rescinding the Executive Order banning OCS drilling.
Maybe the Saudi’s increasing their oil production from 9 million barrels to day to 9.7 million barrels a day had something to do with that.

Duh, maybe because there’s no oil bearing substrata there? Oil companies do employ geologists you know to tell them the likely areas that MAY contain oil. Only after finding likely areas do they commit to the very expensive drilling operation.
