And, if you recall, Nancy and her friends were outraged at the high price of gasoline ($2.33) and vowed to do something about it under their leadership! Well, they did something about it!

Be careful what you wish for!

Isn’t that the “change” the slackers are clamoring for?

Good Illustration Rob of how out of touch the DNC is. The dems are killing the middle class and trying to blame it on big oil and Bush and Chenney.

How has Nancy Pelosi’s Speaker nomination caused American gas prices to increase?

It is basic ecomomic that a child could figure out. Your question:

Troll said: How has Nancy Pelosi’s Speaker nomination caused American gas prices to increase?

How about Nancy Pelosi is cow towing to liberal environmental nut jobs by not allowing a vote on domestic drilling, hence, keeping supply low and price high. The Jig is up and she will lose.

Pelosi is one of the worst Speakers of the house in recent times. Horrible…

Domestic drilling? Don’t make me laugh.

Domestic drilling won’t do shit. The oil companies will just sell oil at the same premium rate they always have. Nancy Pelosi, Bush, etc. has nothing to do with the high oil prices.

It’s “Cheney,” and “economics.” I’m sure even a child would be able to spell those words.

The very day Bush announced lifting an executive ban on drilling, the price of oil dropped six dollar.

You were saying . . . ?

Ken McCracken on August 5, 2008 at 07:50 pm

The price of oil is dropping like a rock since Barry O caved on blocking new drilling! LOL!

I love how leftards who know nothing about the petroleum industry suddenly know how it works, and how long it takes to bring a well to production. Also love how they only hear half of what Pickens says about drilling. Mental blinders must be implanted at birth.

Hrm,

Since you seem to regard yourself as an expert in these matters, perhaps you can explain why oil prices started to decline immediately after President Bush’s announcement rescinding the Executive Order banning OCS drilling.  If, as you say, Bush and Pelosi have nothing to do with it, if federal government policy regarding the increase in domestically supplied oil is not a factor, then please explain what is.  Why have oil prices dropped, and why has the decline taken place when it has?

Maybe the Saudi’s increasing their oil production from 9 million barrels to day to 9.7 million barrels a day had something to do with that.

Lestat on August 6, 2008 at 06:44 am

Perhaps the documented decline in demand added to the price drop.

What is the axiom of supply and demand?

Lestat,

If the increase in Saudi production had “something” to do with the decrease in crude prices, then that’s all the more reason for the US to similarly increase our own production of crude oil, isn’t it?

Thank you!

The land adjacent to ANWR is open for drilling now.  Why isn’t it being exploited?

Maybe because the companies we are leasing to don’t want to drill.

Hawk on August 6, 2008 at 08:35 am

Duh, maybe because there’s no oil bearing substrata there?  Oil companies do employ geologists you know to tell them the likely areas that MAY contain oil.  Only after finding likely areas do they commit to the very expensive drilling operation.

Lefttodd? How has Nanncy brought the price of gas down? She told you leftars that she was going to do that. What happened?

And while we are at it, lefttodd, you ever been to ANWR? Prudhoe Bay? Worked on a drilling or production rig? Have a clue? Any clue, at all?
