The Palin Bounce: McCain Gains Eight Points On Obama To Tie The Race

Sarah “Barracuda” Palin has given McCain the sort of bounce Biden couldn’t.  Obama went from a 48/40 lead before the RNC convention to no lead at all now.

(CBS) The presidential race between Barack Obama and John McCain is now even at 42 percent, according to a new CBS News poll conducted Monday-Wednesday of this week. Twelve percent are undecided according to the poll, and one percent said they wouldn’t vote.

This is in contrast to a poll conducted last weekend, where the Obama-Biden ticket led McCain-Palin by eight points, 48 percent to 40 percent.

It’s amazing what an actual conservative can do for a Presidential ticket.

I’m thinking McCain’s speech will drop him back down again.

(cynicism)

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Actually, the most important thing in that poll is that they actually used a fair sample with 34% dems and 31% republicans.

You can see what a difference it makes.

This poll was taken before Palin’s speech.

McCain is an actual conservative.  Hysteria drummed up by Hannity, Malkin, Ingraham, and Limbaugh over two or three positions McCain differs from them on doesn’t change that.  McCain is more conservative than President Bush (who I admire greatly).

It looks like Palin is more conservative than McCain which is fine by me.  I’ve thought since June that the presidential election is McCain’s to lose.  Now with the Palin pick, I feel even stronger about a McCain win.  It’ll be close, no doubt, but McCain will win by a wider margin in the EC than President Bush did in both of his elections.  I’m guessing 300 EC votes to Obama’s 238.

McCain is an actual conservative.

False!  He favors big govt intervention in political speech(McCain/Feingold), the global warming propaganda, big govt taxing and rationing energy(McCain/Lieberman) and amnesty for invaders(McCain/Kennedy).  He also engages in class envy rhetoric("tax cuts for the rich” and “obscene profits").  He is no conservative, he is a moderate Dem, or worse.

McCain is an actual conservative.

Nope, he is not, and neither is bobert108 a real conservative. MC is a moderate. A moderate generally has less devotion to ideals and more common sense when it counts.
bobert108 is a neo-con. A neo-con is a liberal that hates liberals.

A neo-con is a liberal that hates liberals.

Another lie from you, moron!  A neocon is a former leftie who has seen the light and has embraced American principles.  The name was originated for Jews(traditionally left wing) who abandoned the leftie identity plantation and started thinking for themselves.
You lie in two ways; I’m not Jewish, and I have always been conservative.  You humiliate yourself by displaying your ignorance yet again, weird little groupie stalker.

Dont fool yourself. If Obama gets the states that went blue last election, wins ohio, colorado, and/or michigan he wins. Obama is winning in the states that matter. The rest is just salve for the bruised GOP, something to keep them interested in the election. Wishful thinking only goes so far.

I’ll be voting for Sarah..
For what good it’ll do. At lease there’ll be someone in town to advise against foolish compromise with the Liberals.

That’s amazing… really it is. I was quite worried when the polls jumped for Obama, and sunk for McCain a few days ago. Talk about a whopping lead.

I have always been conservative

First, as I keep pointing out, you should look up the word groupie. You are very clearly confused as to what a groupie is. You should look it up bobert, and try looking up antagonist as well.
As far as your neo-con status, neo-cons have no real conservative depth. They are creatures of expediance, much like you and other liberals. They think they should butt into others lives and tell people how to live, just like many liberals and you. They also spend taxpayer funds like a liberal, they spend and spend while deriding liberals for the same thing. You share many of these things with the neo-cons. You defend the neo-cons at every turn, and you tend to ignore your “deeply held conservative values” when it suits your purpose to. You dont even know what you are, you dont know what the meaning of several words you use all the time are, and your a nasty disgusting creature. A real conservative stands up for personal rights. You redefine rights to mean whatever you want them to mean so your idiotic arguments will make some sense. Your a blunt minded oaf. Your offensive and rude, and your intellectual dishonesty is well known. You call names all the time, accuse others of the same things you practice, and you have no life, judging from your massive postings at all times of the day and night. You need help in so many ways. You deserve everything you get. Nitwit.

Your obsession with me in no way gives you any actual knowledge of who or what I am, weirdo.
Keep humiliating yourself by spewing your lies and bullshit, if that is what you need to do.
You obviously know nothing about conservatism, which is typical of an ignoramus.  Good luck with your mental handicap.

I went to check out the Daily Kos (I’m not sure why) and they are trashing this poll, lol.  They claim that republicans were oversampled, lol!!!  CBS doing that my ass.  Of course they provide no links to support their insane rantings.  I am sure they would be supporting this poll if their lord and savior the Chosen One was up.

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

Doesn’t CO toss its electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote?

OH, not bloodly likely.  In fact, MI is in play for the Rethuglicans, the donks there are bleedin’ freely.

I’m from Michigan, and there’s plenty of blue voters. We have Yoopers, but Detroit has the largest concentration of african americans in the country, and will most certainly be voting obama.

Anyway… rethuglicans? Give me a break.

Our governor, while not as bad as she could be, has done nothing to turn the tide on the one-state recession we’ve been hit with, and we’ve elected her TWICE!!!

The mayor of our largest urban sector was run out of office after joyriding in police motorcycles, doubling his staff (ahem-friends-ahem) salary, unfairly firing police officers, and then using eight million dollars in state money to cover his attorney fees.... all of that’s before you get to his affair with Christine Beatty.

He’s a democrat.

Don’t talk to me about the thuggery and underhandedness of conservatives, mmkay peaches?
