The New York Times Didn’t Run “Sleazy” Edwards Story, But Did Run “Sleazy” McCain Story

The Times of London takes a shot at the New York Times:

The New York Times has not deigned to touch the story, although it recently ran thousands of words on a relationship between McCain and a female lobbyist, which appeared to be based more on innuendo than fact.

Just so we’ve got this straight: A story about an affair involving a Republican politician that is based on no evidence and a lot of innuendo gets front-page treatment from the New York Times. A story about an affair involving a Democrat media darling that has a lot of corroborating evidence doesn’t get any coverage at all.
Funny how that works.

I was surprised that CNN reported and discussed this story for over three hours yesterday. They had psychologists explaining away this type behavior, etc., but mostly the anchors did a good job. Fox also reported, but MSNBC was virtually silent.

    corroberating evidence

    !!??

Damn, Edwards has outright admitted what he did. And still the NYT doesn’t touch it.

    What’s their motto again?

“All The News That’s Fit To Print”

    My, my, my.

They had psychologists explaining away this type behavior,

Yeah, it’s a common affliction of those concentrating on doing “the people’s business.”

The Fargo Forum buried the story on page seven and made no mention of it on its website today.
This, despite ABC radio interrupting programing to report it live yesterday.

Whatever dalliances McCain had were in the past.

Edwards problems are new, and a big part of the story is the way the press didn’t handle the emerging scandal.

Edwards is done this year, but his potential political career is far from over. This will all be mostly forgotten in the near future, just as McCain’s problems were.

Besides, you Dems should stop pretending you even care about extramarital affairs anyway (*cough* BILL CLINTON *cough*)

Cmon- Edwards is out of the race, running for nothing. McCain is the Repub. nomination. Huge difference. Further, answer this: if John Edwards’ political career is done, why isn’t John McCain’s? John McCain had a well-documented affair on his first wife, with his current wife. He has admitted in the books he has written about his life that he ran around with several different women while still married to his first wife. And don’t forget that he left her for a younger, richer woman – multi-millionaire Cindy Hensley who is now Cindy McCain – after she had been severely hurt in a car accident.

The only way that these left wing newspapers would do this story if they could blame the Edwards dilemna on George W. or some other Republican. Suppose that if W hadn’t stolen the 2004 election, Edwards would have had some big appointment such as AG and none of this would have happened. See, it’s all Bush’s fault.

The New York Times ceased to be a newspaper sometime around the 1920s. They are and have been pro-communist since Walter Duranty wrote for them and covered up for Stalin’s murder of seven million Ukranians. Period.

Has Obama or McCain ever chosen their running mates?

I am sick and tired of these left leaning newspapers not holding the dems feet to the fire because they are chear leaders for the left. I am thinking that if McCain had done this, this would have been a front page NYT story…

MSNBC is not objective at all they are in bed with the left and with the democratic party, there could also be a argument that they are out to get any republican that makes a mistake, that moron they have on in the evening Keith Overbite is a disgrace and should be fired. The guy was a horrible sports announcer and is worse a TV news/propagandist.

Without knowing it, Davinski, you have already answered your own question: He admitted it, while the Silky Pony has lied about it for two years. Big difference.
