The New Brownshirts: Gay Activists Seeking Retribution On Anyone Who Supported Prop 8

This is absolutely way, way over the line:

Should there be boycotts, blacklists, firings or de facto shunning of those who supported Proposition 8?
That’s the issue consuming many in liberal Hollywood who fought to defeat the initiative banning same-sex marriage and are now reeling with recrimination and dismay. Meanwhile, activists continue to comb donor lists and employ the Internet to expose those who donated money to support the ban.

“Activists”? They’re not “activists”. They’re hatchet men – and women – who would make the Nazi Brownshirts proud. Get this quote from one of their organizers:

And there remains a distinct contingent of same-sex marriage supporters who are adamant about retribution. One is Chad Griffin, a political advisor to Hollywood executives who says, “A dollar to the yes campaign is a dollar in support of bigotry, homophobia and discrimination. There are going to be consequences. Any individual who has held homophobic views and who has gone public by writing a check, you can expect to be publicly judged. Many can expect to pay a price for a long time to come.”

Let me say this – just because you didn’t support gay marriage doesn’t make you homophobic and certainly doesn’t make someone a bigot. Gays already have the right to marry. Nobody is denying them that. They simply do not have the extra right to marry someone of their own sex.
So…..it’s really about having an extra right granted to them that other people don’t have.
Anyway, these people are actively going after anyone they can show to have supported Proposition 8 and that, folks, is genuinely scary stuff. It’s even making many in the gay community uncomfortable:

Others are leery of punishing free speech, even if they consider it hateful. “I can’t quite stomach the notion that you fire somebody because of what they believe. It doesn’t feel right to me,” says Christine Vachon, a pillar of gay cinema who produced such films as “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Far From Heaven.”

The new Brownshirts are forgetting a simple law of physics: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. They’re no doing themselves or their cause any favors by going after people who don’t see things their way. They like to paint themselves as victims when in fact, they’re the predators in this situation.
Get this…..they ALREADY HAVE THE VERY SAME RIGHTS AS EVERYONE ELSE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Using blackmail and threats to get something special is a vile thing to do.

I’m thinking of taking a month off work, and becoming a mercenary body guard for 80+ year old women in California who are being beat up by the Fags.

They aren’t ‘men’ enough to pick on someone that might ‘hurt’ them, so they knock over old lady’s carrying crosses.

It would be worth it to go out there and pound a few of them.

The Heterophobes are really getting their panties in a bunch about this one. LOL

Someone should organize a boycott of everyone who are spearheading boycotts against Prop 8 supporters. If they make movies, boycott their movies. If they write books, boycott their books. Give them a dose of their own medicine. I’m personally sick and tired of people imposing their beliefs and lifestyle on others.

And I’m speaking as a supporter of gay marriage. At least I used to be. Now, I’m going to support every initiative or law against gay marriage. And if the California Supreme Court makes the mistake of ruling against Prop 8, I’ll be supporting a move to remove the justices from the bench. The gay movement not only lost a supporter, they’ve gained an advocate for the other side.

Gman, be careful about being a bodyguard. One in ten homosexual males carries the AIDS virus, if statistics be trusted, and I would guess this proportion might be higher among activists.

And weren’t a fairly good portion of the original “brownshirts” of this sexual orientation as well? Some of the leaders certainly were, and it was shut down in part because of the notoriety of some behaviors.

During the debate over Proposition 8, those in favor of outlawing gay marraige said that homosexual activists would try to force churches and other services to include gay by suing.

Anto 8 activists claimed that they have no intention of forcing any group to perform or sanction gay marraiges.

Well… a couple weeks after the election, E-Harmony (a born again Christian) dating service was forced to offer their services to gays…under threat of a lawsuit.

So much for not forcing anyone to do anything against their will.

So many of the liberals on here like to talk about voter disenfranchisement, but the irony is, this truly makes people disenfranchised. Why should people vote? If you don’t like the outcome, sue. I wonder how they would like it if they had won the vote and the situation was turned? How would they like all the name calling, threats? I already boycott idiots that I don’t agree with. If they want people to take them seriously, then quit trying to say it’s all about love, when all they are showing is hate. How come some of the most prominent gays like Elton John are not acting like dumb asses? Because they know it doesn’t matter. This is just an excuse to play wounded.

    Sorry about the typos.

you can expect to be publicly judged. Many can expect to pay a price for a long time to come.”

Rob, you are correct on someting here.
These people would be wise to be more carful here.
America has been “more” than tolerant with Homosexual behavior. Actually “Embraced” it in many, many ways. These people don’t need to run and hide.
A person catches more flack in America if you’re Overweight, or Disabled, or not very good looking, have speaking difficulty, or any number of “Normal” human condition challenges.
Homosexuality afflicts a “fractional” portion of the population, and, in my opinion, is not a minority group in the same as race, in terms of actual legitimacy.
If anything, I see them as a “Tool” of the Left.
The vast magority of Americans are not, and will never be “Gay”.
My feeling is strong, that they need to leave well enough, alone.

Lets us put all this here in perspective. The vast majority of the citizens of Cali voted for Prop 8. A tiny minority voted against it. Discussion over, the people have spoken(4 times now) and gay marriage is a non-starter. Period. Full stop.
