The More Americans Know About Huckabee And Illegal Immigration, The Less They Like Him

According to the Americans for Legal Immigration:

The opposition to Mike Huckabee’s touchback amnesty plan and endorsement of lone Minuteman Jim Gilchrist by 84 immigration enforcement organizations is taking a toll on the Huckabee campaign’s polling numbers while radio ads, phone banks, talk radio shows, and bloggers against illegal immigration spread news of his true stance and immigration record.

“It’s a race against time,” says William Gheen of ALIPAC. “The more GOP voters know about Huckster’s touchback amnesty and his past support for illegal aliens, the more his numbers drop!”

Huckabee’s strong lead in Iowa has evaporated now that his campaign is facing scrutiny on many issues, with illegal immigration registering as a top issue with Iowa voters. A week ago, ALIPAC and 84 organizations launched efforts to make Huckabee’s record on illegal immigration known.

I’m not entirely convinced that it’s all due to his stance on illegal immigration, but it’s certainly true that Huck’s dominance in Iowa has all but vanished.
