The Lost Wallet Test

This is fascinating.

Basically a guy lost a whole bunch of wallets on purpose, video taped the people finding them, and then studied who returned the wallets and who kept them.

The findings?  Women were more honest then men, white people were more honest then black people and old people were more honest then young people.

Be sure to click the link to read his analysis and watch some of the video of the lost wallets being found.

Great link.  This was an interesting test, and I enjoyed reading the results.  Thanks for posting this.

First, of course, a ridiculously low sample size--way too small to make generalizations.

Second, it’s too bad he couldn’t test the one factor I beleive would have the greatest predictive value--income level.

So if I ever lose my wallet, I hope an old white lady is the one who finds it.

Did the report talk about which people knew the difference between “then” and “than”

No, it didn’t steve.

And yes, mixing up “then” and “than” is a mistake I make a lot.

Thanks for being a jagoff about it.

$2.10 ?? Are you kidding? You want to test honesty, put $300 in the wallet and do your little survey again.
