The Clock’s Ticking: Burris Spokesman Resigns

The rats begin fleeing a sinking ship.

(CNN) — A spokesman for Illinois Sen. Roland Burris resigned Thursday in the wake of new disclosures about requests that Burris raise money for disgraced former Gov. Rod Blagojevich while seeking a U.S. Senate appointment.
“I initially began helping the senator on a temporary basis because he is a long-term friend who I served several years when he was [Illinois] attorney general,” Jason Erkes said in a written statement to CNN.
“It is now time for me to get back to focusing on … my newly formed strategic communications business.”
The statement did not comment on the new disclosures.

Uh, right. Focus on his new career. That’s why he’s resigning. Not because his boss made the quid pro quo deal with Blago even after the former governor was arrested for trying to sell the Senate seat.

    When did racism become a liberal ideal?

    When the Democrats hijacked the term liberal. I would assume the FDR administration was responsible, but of course I wasn’t alive back then.

    It’s a function of the fascism that is liberalism today.

    You see this kind of corruption all the time with Chicago politicians right down the line: Blago, Burris, Obama.

    Burssi, an attorney, a Democrat, and the former Illinois state Attorney General, lied during his confirmation hearings and lied before the Illinois impeachment panel. Democrats in Springfield and in Washington covered up Burris’ lies in order to ensure the passage of fellow Illinois politician Obama’s so-called “stimulus bill.”

    Roland Burris should resign his seat in disgrace… and probably will be forced to do so. But so should Dick Durbin, Harry Reid, and Barack Obama.
