The Civil Rights Movement Ain’t What It Used To Be

Civil rights legend Martin Luther King Jr., whose movement Jesse Jackson worked with in the 1960’s, speaking during his famous “I have a dream” speech:

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

Jesse Jackson, currently the nation’s most recognizable civil rights leader, speaking yesterday:

The Rev. Jesse Jackson criticized Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., for “acting like he’s white” when it comes to the case of six young blacks who were charged with crimes in Jena, La., according to The (Charleston, S.C.) State.

Sounds like someone needs to judge Jackson by the content of his character.

He would be so screwed.

As far as the Jena six I think this is a case for an hate crime prosecution.  (Just kidding I’m against thought crime legislation)

It would be fruitless as Jackson has no character.

Why is it that Jesse Jackson is not being called a racist for saying that?

I refuse to take MLK and Malcolm X and correlate them with the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Marion Barry, Louis Farrakhan, etc.
Like I said before, people like Jackson and the others act like great leaders only to get what they really want: personal status and power. Jackson, along with Sharpton and Farrakhan are race hating promoters and they work Americans through their emotions and then work those emotions into hate for the white Americans.
Jesse Jackson (and the others I mentioned) are what I consider, very a sad sad lil’ men who are nothing but egotistical trouble makers to the future of peace between the races.

Why is your focus on Jackson?  Is it because he is fighting for his people?  Come on you guys…  For crying out loud what the hell is wrong with you people.  Here is some good advice.  Stop trying to be so clever with all of your words. All is does is make you all look racial. If you all really are trying to “help” like you all said to me when some of you tore down my people, then point out how wrong these 6 children are being treated.  Admit that if these were rich, and of a differ color, they would not be treated as harshly.  What they did was wrong, but for heaven sakes they do not have to pay with their lives.  It is wrong how they are being treated, and you all know that!

Jesse Jackson has “his people”? Scary!

The guy is a straight up racist. That’s why people around these parts don’t like him. He’s a race-baiting poverty pimp and it looks like you’re one of his defenders. Sorry to see that. How sad.

Sorry to disappoint you likwidshoe, but I am not a supporter of his.  I feel that these six children are being harshly judged.  It takes money and power for attention.  Jackson and his followers have that, and that is what it takes for most to listen to reason when it comes to poor minorities.  There is no doubt that these children did do wrong, but like I said before, they don’t have to pay with their lives.  If you dig deep into the story you will realize the racism involved.
