According to a Gallup poll of all 50 states and Washington DC, there’s only one place in America where a majority of citizens feel the economy is improving, and that place is Washington DC.

And why wouldn’t the folks in DC feel that way? After all, the local “industry” in DC is government, and the Obama years have been very, very good at making government a growth industry.

In Washington, D.C., according to the results Gallup released on Friday (see the second page of Gallup’s analysis), 70 percent of the people said the economy was getting better and 24 percent said it was getting worse. …

After D.C., the next most economically optimistic place was Minnesota, where 48 percent said they believed the economy was getting better and 47 percent said it was getting worse.

This is Obama’s America, where the government grows bigger and more powerful while the private sector suffers.
