Thanksgiving Open Thread

image

I’m going to be using the holiday to take a break from politics and blogging (and upgrade my laptop to Windows 7).
I hope you all enjoy the holiday with your friends and family as well.
And if one of your relatives brings up politics…change the subject. Everyone deserves a break now and then.

    Happy Thanksgiving every one.

  • sayanything-106

Exactly Neiman, he ruins every post with his drivel.

  • farm4money

Happy Thanksgiving to one and ALL Not just at thanksgiving, but everyday of the year we need to give thanks for all of our blessings. Even when our country has its’ problems, it is still the best place to live on this planet. Thanks to all on this blog, even those who i do not agree with (except for Dino who tried to screw up a good thread) Gods’ blessings to all, and to those who do not believe in God, my blessings!!!!! Eat well, I do my best to provide you the best …….

  • sayanything-5371

Yet they remain delusional and believe they are mainstream. You get all the crazies here.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

I’m thankful that Dino has to sleep sometime! (Otherwise, he’d never give it a rest!)

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  • sayanything-2

How do I put pics into threads now? Was going to post a done turkey pic, settle the boys down ya know.

  • sayanything-2819

And President Obama’s address, first mentioned in your link was not political?

  • sayanything-1714

Have a great Thanksgiving folks. Even in a recession we are all very lucky to live in this country Obama is trying to destroy. :^)

I hope the good will from the holidays spill over in our daily lives, and not just the holidays. But, I will take it where I can get it.

  • ec99

    Happy Thanksgiving, all.

  • Eddie_the_Hated

Y’know, I’ve got to be honest. I’m amazingly thankful for the country I was born in. I live in a nation that comprises a little over six percent of the world’s population, which also comprises a little over fifty percent of it’s prosperity and wealth. So, to say I’m blessed is an understatement.

…but the holidays *really* don’t illustrate that for me. I find that the better times in my life are far-detached from the hustle and the bustle of thanksgiving and christmas.

    “QUOTE: ROB: Windows 7″

Yeah, I’ll give Microsoft credit where credit’s due. Once it was patched, and service packed it wasn’t terrible, but there was just not enough reason to justify the update, especially given the fact that the majority of the “improvements” Vista offered could be done with third-party software.

Seven, on the other hand, has rocked my socks. The ability to turn off nanny-alerts with one click was good enough as it is. Has anybody noticed them really attempting to chew into Mac & Ubuntu’s marketshare, as far as features go?

  • sayanything-287

Damn! Dino just could not miss an opportunity to be a complete ass and denigrate our brave soldiers. Bastard!

Now I know why Spartacus made his special wish for him!

For everyone at SAB, even the God haters and Dino, Happy Thanksgiving and remember it is about Who we Thank for all our blessings!

  • sayanything-4625

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  • sayanything-279

Happy Tday to one and all. God bless America.

  • sayanything-22

Happy T-Day everyone … If you happen to be in the area stop by. I’m making plenty of food.

That’s always a pretty safe statement when you live in Gilby. :)

  • Eddie_the_Hated

You’re going to love Windows 7 Rob. I just delved into it on my new desktop, and it’s phenominal. Everything Vista wasn’t.

  • sayanything-203

Happy Thanksgiving to friend and foe alike. We all have an awful lot to be thankful for… including those who serve in harms way to protect our freedom to disagree here. Remember them in your prayers.

  • sayanything-2819

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am thankful for so much…..the health and welfare of my family, the troops serving here and abroad in protection of this country and its ideals, the ability to work, and for blogs like SAB. But, most of all, I am thankful to God for the gift of His Son, Jesus.

  • sayanything-3110

May every one have the best today and in the coming year to prosper and grow , may you be healthy wealthy and wise . We are the greatest nation in the entire world and I am thankful I was born in the good old USA. Good bless .

A Happy Thanksgiving to everyone as well. I too will be giving politics a rest for a few days. It will be nice to do nothing for awhile. Just wish Sheila and I could be RVing someplace.

  • AKA WOOF

    Let all be grateful

  • farm4money

    Dino,

Please give your computer away and stop writing on blogs, then the rest of the world will have something extra to be thankful for

  • sayanything-106

That is some good advice for the sock puppet.

  • sayanything-5371

I’m also thankful that dino is a biological dead end.

  • sayanything-2

Happy Thanksgiving, y’all. Getting the turkey in the oven right now!

  • sayanything-106

I think the difference between McCain and BarryO is that we drive into the ditch faster, those two men. McCain is a liberal republican and we have too many of them now in our part.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

God’s way of cleansing the gene pool!

  • jimmypop

“Just think. If things had turned out differently, a President McCain”

no, it would be the same. you see…. there is a reason libby mac lost.

  • sayanything-106

DINO STFU!!! Do you have to polute every thread on this blog? The opposite of your stupid post is nothing. That would really be good.

  • sayanything-5371

I’m thankful for the nutjobs like dino and hannitized who’s stupidity provides amusement everyday.

  • sayanything-2

Be sure to tip a few pints for us, mate!

  • sayanything-4124

Happy Thanksgiving all! I hope you all have a great day!

  • sayanything-38

Avery happy Thanksgiving to all who come here, left or right or in between, from myself and my family.

May your day be a great one.

  • sayanything-2819

We celebrated yesterday since my husband will be working today. We have celebrated on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving for more than twenty years. So, today I am enjoying some time with my kids, both home from school. What a joy they are to us! We are going to go see “The Blind Side” this afternoon.

  • sayanything-2

Merry Thanksgiving, damnit! I’ll get those pics in when we get home. Got to take the turkey over to the aunt’s house now. Later y’all.

  • jimmypop

happy thanksgiving to all of you.

i am grateful for so many things. when i was young the world gave me a chance to fail. and fail i did. the best part of that failure? i learned. the better part? that chance was still there so i could do it again if i wanted to work at it. and i did. i took another shot and its all worked out better than i could have dreamed.

summary; i am grateful i live in the usa. poor people cannot become free anywhere as easily as we can here.

  • spartacus

Happy thanksgiving Dino. Now make it a happy one for the rest of us and choke on a bone.

  • sayanything-7695

    Happy Thanks Giving Folks.

The construction job I’m on is winding down and a small group of people are getting laid off just about every Friday. Wish me luck in making it through till next spring, when hopefully some new jobs will break ground.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

For what it’s worth, I’m thankful for my good health, my family and all my friends including all the commenters on this blog.

Even the ones who can’t stop being jerks.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

I’m thankful for nuts like Dino for driving so many to conservatism with their stupidity.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

Funny thing is, I’ve never had a problem with Vista.

I’ve seen all the complaints, and I believe them, but for whatever reason it’s just never given me any headaches.

  • spartacus

Happy turkey day everyone…you too Hannitized…turkey…

  • sayanything-81

I am thankful for my family, however spread across the greater north american region they will be tomorrow (three countries and two US states). I am also thankful for all my friends, new and old, as those are the folks that pull you through and say ‘yes’ when you ask for annoying favors. There are a lot of things I would love to take credit for, but could not have managed without all the aforementioned.

And thanks to the SAB crowd for all the ruckus. Never a dull moment.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

    Glad I can help then!

  • sayanything-4416

    Yes, Happy Thanksgiving.

And remember, those troops aren’t protecting you if you’re not in the top 10%. They’re protecting Goldman Sachs.

If any other first world country on earth managed to conquer us, 90% of the people on this land mass would be getting a far better deal than now.

  • sayanything-4416

I’m sure your “tipping of the pints” (or quarts of Jack) hasn’t stopped since last Sunday.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

I might not of had Vista problems because I didn’t upgrade and I didn’t buy a computer with it until it was well established.

With 7 I’m going with a clean install instead of uodating. I think that’s the best way.

  • sayanything-22795

    Happy Thanksgiving from England :)

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

I’m thankful for farmers like Farmfordollars who produce all the great food!

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

    Haha!

  • sayanything-4416

I live in a nation that comprises a little over six percent of the world’s population, which also comprises a little over fifty percent of it’s prosperity and wealth.

And just think, that wealth is largely held by 30 families!

As for the mentioning of politics on this, “the holiest of holidays”:

Obama and GOP differ over recipe for jobs, economy

It didn’t stop the republicans from politicking, once again selling their tired solutions of tax cuts for the rich as the cure for everything.

Just think. If things had turned out differently, a President McCain would be wishing those in the tent cities and those about to storm the White House (as well as those building the work camps for republicans) a very special Thanksgiving!

  • sayanything-22795

    Happy Thanksgiving from England :)

  • mplsbob

    Happy Thanksgiving to all!

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

Well, I finished the Windows 7 upgrade. That was…absolutely painless. And quick. And everything is working perfectly.

I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop now…

  • sayanything-101

“And if one of your relatives brings up politics…change the subject. Everyone deserves a break now and then.” That’s what this blog is for; I try to never debate with relatives or people I have met in person.(:^)

  • sayanything-3444

    Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

I am most thankful for the life that God has provided me – the here and now and what comes later. For someone who had the rough start in life that I did, I am truly blessed beyond anything I ever dreamed and it could have only happened here in America. I pray that future generations will continue to have those same opportunities.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

    good luck
