Thanks To Bush, Obama Able To Accelerate Troop Withdrawal From Iraq

The only reason why this can be happening right now without risking stability in Iraq is because Bush went ahead and won the war when all the media/left could talk about was losing it.

BAGHDAD (AFP) – Iraq and the United States announced on Sunday that 12,000 US troops will go home by the end of September, as a suicide bomber killed 28 people outside a Baghdad police academy.
“We have agreed that a total of 12,000 US troops will be withdrawn by the end of September 2009,” government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said, adding that 4,000 British troops would go in July.
Under a US-Iraqi security agreement signed in November, US troops are to pull out of towns and cities by June 30 and from the whole country by the end of 2011.
Some 140,000 US troops are currently deployed in Iraq — down from a peak of more than 160,000 during the 2007 “surge” offensive against insurgents and Al-Qaeda.
“The reduction is possible due to the increased level of security and stability that Iraq has achieved over the last 12 months,” a statement by the US military said.

Bush should get credit for this, but he won’t. Because that wouldn’t be convenient for all the liberals who invested themselves in defeat in Iraq.
Regardless, the fact that we’ll have fewer of our troops in harm’s way in Iraq is excellent news. Especially because they’re coming home isn’t at the expense of the mission in Iraq.

Bush should get credit for this, but he won’t.

just dotn forget this date…. if bush gets the recession (and he should), he gets the war and the pull out with a victory as well. and he should.

You do not negotiate from a position of weakness. Neither do you back away from terrorists, communists or lawlessness, but you do from heathens.

Bush should get credit for this accomplishment but the liberal media is too busy saturating us with NOBAMA failing administration. The foam at the mouth anti war left will never give Bush the credit he deserves.

If “poppy bush” had finished the job back then, we wouldn’t have wound up there doing this now.

“Obama’s” withdrawal plan is rubber-stamping George W Bush’s plan- but he’s not above taking credit for a victory he had nothing to do with.

Obama signed orders for a withdrawal to pretend he’s fufulling his now-extraneous campaign promises… just a show. As with his order to shut-down Gitmo, he and his staff had almost no details sorted-out… “the beginning of the process.” Team Obama apparently felt the need politically to get something in the newspapers that looked like action on this touchstone of his campaign… without any idea of how to actually do it.

The only reason he is not being handed a civil-war infested with Al Qaida is the dramatic success of “The Surge” strategy, which won the war… but which both Obama and Biden opposed vehemently.

During the campaign, when it became obvious that Bush, Petraeus, and McCain were right, and Obama wrong- he changed the subject. While his advisors then felt that Iraq was no longer a useful talking point, they now see an opportunity to put Obama’s face on the withdrawal… and lend a facade of legitimacy to his previous, ill-advised cut-and-run proposals.

And didn’t Bush’s Status-of-Forces Agreement with the Maliki government in Baghdad already set the timetable for the withdrawal over the next three years?

This is just fodder for the ill-informed and antiwar left.

May God Bless the days that remain to George W. Bush. He did what was imperative for US and the whole free world and took all the heat for doing so.

THAT my friends is an American man.

if you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs…

because Bush went ahead and won the war

where are all the troops bush pulled out when he won the war? or did he win it on january 19th? if the war is over, shouldn’t we bring all the troops home now? poppy bush was able to pull all the troops out very quickly after winning the first gulf war.
