Ted Rall Suggests That The President Shoot Himself

Did you people catch this Rall cartoon?

Ted Rall Suggests That The President Kill Himself

I don’t really know if any one pays much attention to Rall any more, but I thought this particular cartoon was rather ironic seeing as how recently Rall challenged the right to provide evidence of the left’s hate. At that time he had this to say:

I am surprised at the amount of vicious, specific threats of violence directed toward conservative personalities by supposed progressives. That kind of schoolyard bullying makes us no better than the Republicans we claim to despise for their “bomb first, ask questions later” approach to diplomacy. As everybody knows, I don’t shy away from harsh language; I rather specialize in it. But I draw the line at threats, real or implied, against people with whom I disagree. Once you start to do that, after all, you’ve admitted defeat because you couldn’t argue against your foe based on the merits of your point of view. And it’s a gutter tactic running against the very essence of the First Amendment.

He riles against “gutter tactics” and then freely engages in them himself. If that’s not the very definition of hypocrisy I don’t know what is.
What a hateful little turd this guy is.

Well, Rall is wrong when he asserts Hitler was democratically-elected. In reality, Hitler came to power in a similar fashion as Bush; both never won the popular vote but came into office as a result of backroom deals and the threat of violence.

Instead, Rall could have noted that Hitler was a decorated soldier in WWI, while Bush went AWOL in VN.

OTOH, the rest of Rall’s cartoon is dead on; particularly, the part where Bush never accepts accountability.

Bush got the popular vote in the last election. By 3+ million if memory serves.

And what threats of violence did Bush make during either the 2000 or 2004 elections?
