Ted Kennedy Belonged To Woman-Excluding Club

Hmm…

The eight-term senator belonged to an all-male social club — the Owl — at Harvard University. The Owl refused to admit women until it was forced to do so during the 1980s, according to records kept by the Harvard Crimson, the student newspaper.

Of course, to Democrats this doesn’t really matter.

A Kennedy spokeswoman said it was an entirely different matter.
“No one can question Senator Kennedy’s commitment to equality, justice and civil rights,” said Laura Capps. “What he was part of was a social club, not a radical group pushing a radical agenda.”

Ted Kennedy’s devotion to women’s rights is beyond reproach. He supports abortion! Affirmative action! Hiring and admissions quotas! Forget that he is the Senate leader in “number of female staffers drowned after driving off a bridge on the way to an illicit sexual tryst,” the man has values, unlike that nasty Sam Alito.
By the way, which part of Concerned Alumni of Princeton’s agenda is “radical?” As near as I can tell they opposed the lowering of Princeton admission standards for females and minorities and opposed the expulsion of Princeton’s ROTC chapter (which Alito was a member of). What’s wrong with that? I also believe that admission and hiring policies should be fair to all applicants, regardless of sex or skin color. Am I a racist/sexist? There are a couple less-than-savory quotes from the group’s magazine being circulated about, but why should Alito be tagged with the sentiments of others?
I am a card-carrying member of the GOP. Does that mean I agree with everything ever Republican out there does? Or even with every official position of the GOP? Of course not. Just as I am not responsible for every position taken by fellow GOP members, Sam Alito is not responsible for every position taken by fellow members in a group he was a member of in passing decades ago.

Ted is a great example of what is wrong with politicians and the whole power thing.

Reminds me of a kenedy joke after the Jr. crash.

Remember when the Kennedy’s used to kill their women one at a time. It would be funny if it wasn’t so accurate.

I believe he also belonged to the “He-Man Woman Haters Club” as well…

There aren’t many people in this world that I absolutely cannot stand, but Teddy boy is one of them. I’d love to give him a swift kick in the nuts. Nothing like being a icon of the Democratic party while being a Alcoholic and Woman Abuser…

Can you tell that I don’t like him?

It is amazing to me that the people of MA keep electing him. Guess there’s nothing so fine as blind loyalty.
