Swedish Court Rules That Prisoner Has A Right To Pornography

I’m not familiar with Sweden’s laws so I can’t comment on the ruling, but here in America you’d think it’d be ok to deny prisoners access to porn while incarcerated.  The Constitution simply states that all citizens must have due process of law before their liberty is removed, and we already deny prisoners access to, well, the ability to walk around free.  Some places have even stopped prisoners from smoking.  So why not porn too?

Of course, on the flip side of that, if giving a violent sex offender access to porn makes him less of a risk to guards and other prisoners…why not?  That’s assuming that the prisoner in question is in for life, of course.  If not, the goal of prison is rehabilitation.  And I fail to see how pornography is part of the rehabilitation process for sex offenders.
