I wrote to my congressman about this. Write to yours, let’s get this stopped.

It’s been well worth the taxpayer expense of flying Speaker Pelosi and her children and their families and friends wherever they were going… just to be able to take it all away from her next January when she will no longer be Speaker of the House. Kinda like forcing an addict to go “Cold Turkey.”

Who was it that was busted for using US military transport to go golfing? How long ago was that?

I agree, and find myself pulling back into the shadows as I sharpen my stick.

When we send people to Washington it is not to make them into American royalty, which is why other than the President and possibly the Vice President, our alleged citizen legislators should have to pay for all their own transportation to and from home, unless the voters in their states choose to pay for it out of state tax revenues; and if that is not available or it is inconvenient, even if they are in line for the presidency, too freaking bad. Now there are exceptions when they are on legitimate federal business and this applies even to cabinet secretaries; they should be reimbursed for private transportation, or if military planes are going their way, then they can pay a reduced fare to fly on a regular military transport just like any soldier or sailor, same accommodations.

This nation was not brought into existence to create a full time, professional ruling class. These legislators and cabinet members are just people/citizens, they are not a ruling elite, just citizens supposedly willing to make sacrifices to serve their constituents and the nation and they should have to earn a living, like in the real world.

So, I do not care why she used her private government flying castle for her children or grandchildren, both they and she should have to pay their own way and except for the Speaker when regular military transports are available, that means civilian airlines, trains, cars of Greyhound. If she cannot get home every week and California does not want her here enough to pay for a coach seat on a civilian airline, oh well, so sad but too bad.

I know it’s a lot to ask, but for once–just once–won’t you simply agree that what Speaker Pelosi is doing is shameful? No rationalizations, no tit-for-tat, no he-hit-me-first or so-and-so-did-it-too. Just a simple admission that it’s wrong and she should stop doing it? I know it’s more fun to be partisan, or get off a good quip, or even to try to obfuscate the basic question so as to make it seem there is some sort of ‘relativistic’ equivalency…but for once can’t you simply say that what she is doing is wrong?

No, of course you can’t. Which is why I post or respond so seldom anymore. The growing and intractable fringe elements in here (both right and left) have minds like concrete–thoroughly mixed and permanently set. There is little real discussion anymore, just one endless game of partisan badminton.

With all the liquor listed in the purchase receipts, I seriously doubt that it was just her family flying with (or without) her. First of all, she has only five children, the oldest of which would be 45 now, and only seven grandchildren–the oldest of which would only just now be reaching legal drinking age. Two children of her youngest grandchildren are still in diapers.

So it’s not real cool that this jet is flying her family around, but reality is that’s NOT the end of the story. There is no way in hell her children and their spouses are downing all that food and drink and arriving on either end of the country in any state to drive home or to their hotel. Somebody else is riding that plane, and what are they giving to ride it, and is the taxpayer being reimbursed? What access are they getting to the Speaker on that plane?

You’re going to find that everywhere online. And in politics in
general. Frustrating yes…but you can’t let it make you want to give
up.

How so? Explain your self.

Pelosi is an evil, evil woman.

Pelosi should just resign! What she is doing is tantamount to treason.
