Surprise: Obama Following Through On Cutting Deficits By Increasing National Spending By 6%
Which means that if he’s really serious about reducing deficits there’s only one way he can truly follow through on that promise now that he’s increasing spending and that’s raising taxes.
Hope for change.
President Obama is to unveil tomorrow a $3.8 trillion budget proposal — a 6 percent increase over last year, according to a published report.
The proposal will include $25 billion for struggling states and provide funding increases for programs at the Department of Energy, the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and the Census Bureau.
Oh, by the way, Obama is dumping another $100 billion into stimulus jobs spending.
WASHINGTON – White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says President Barack Obama’s push to create jobs may carry a price tag in the $100 billion range.
Gibbs says the idea is to help fill in the hole from jobs lost in the deepest recession to hit the country in decades.
The last time Obama tried to spend us into prosperity we got stuck with a $1.4 trillion budget deficit and 10% unemployment.
Why does he think it will work again this time?
