Stupid Busybody Proposes Stupid Law to Protect Stupid People

Unbelievable:

A state senator from Brooklyn said on Tuesday he plans to introduce legislation that would ban people from using an MP3 player, cell phone, Blackberry or any other electronic device while crossing the street in either New York City or Buffalo.

NewsChannel 4 reported that Sen. Carl Kruger is proposing the ban in response to two recent pedestrian deaths in his district, including a 23-year-old man who was struck and killed last month while listening to his iPod on Avenue T and East 71st Street In Bergen Beach.

“While people are tuning into their iPods and cell phones, they’re tuning out the world around them,” Kruger said. The proposed law would make talking on cell phones while crossing the street a comparable offense to jaywalking.

How in the world are you going to enforce this law for crying out loud?  Writing stupid laws increases disrespect for all laws.

I’m willing to bet that this kind of behavior happens literally MILLIONS of times in New York City.  This legislator is going to limit Milliions of people due to one or two accidents that very well would have happened if the dummies weren’t listening to music.  The question is has accidents gone up with the adoption of Ipods, Cell phones and BlackCrackberries?

This is outlawing Darwinism. I say that because if you are too damn stupid to cross the street safely no matter WHAT you’re listening to, well then you’re diluting the gene pool. You need to be flattened. Darwin’s theory in action.

And, by the way, Proof, you beat me to this one. I was gonna do it later but got busy at work. Drat.

It is true that The Whistler and I have never been seen together in the same place…

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

It is true that The Whistler and I have never been seen together in the same place…

....or more importantly at the same time.

Proof doesn’t want to hang out with me because he thinks I’m a jerk.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

More attacks on our personal liberties.....

This is why we have to impose term limits at the voters level. When will these guys realize this is not what we want them to do?

What is term limits at the voter level?  Its is requiring a comment sense test to vote, I am all for it.  There is no point in setting term limit on legislators, they will always be replace by a different panderer for vote.  Limiting the kind of people allow to vote would increase the quality of our public officials.
