“Struggling Families” Ask Obama What He’s Going To Do For Them

This is so tiresome:

HOLLAND, Ohio – During an hourlong visit to a neighborhood of ranch-style and split-level homes near Toledo, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was repeatedly asked what he could do to help struggling families.
His answers ranged from tax cuts to aid for struggling auto companies to measures to reduce home foreclosures.

You know what would be refreshing? If a politician were asked by “struggling” voters what he/she is going to “do” for them to help them out with whatever it is they’re struggling with, and he/she responded by saying “What are you going to do for yourselves?”
Wouldn’t that be refreshing? Of course, the media (which is run by big-government liberals) would excorciate that politician for daring to suggest that people be personally responsible, but it’s exactly that sort response that this country needs. No more bailouts, whether it be for welfare cases or multi-billion dollar corporate giants.
And by the way, check out Obama’s solutions for helping these people out. His “tax cuts” are really a check in the mail for the almost half of Americans who pay nothing or next to nothing in federal income taxes while those Americans who pay the most taxes get a tax hike. Efforts to reduce home foreclosures by groups like Obama’s former employers at ACORN is exactly what got us into this financial mess we’re in now, and the automakers already got a $25 billion bailout.
Is Obama really suggesting that he’s going to give the automakers more? And can we admit that bailing out the automakers who are being driven under by overpriced union labor is little more than propping up a failed business/labor situation?
Obama is the wrong leader for this country. Unfortunately, by nominating a terrible candidate for President, it looks like Republicans have ensured that he’ll be President despite that.

    You are an idiot.

Why would anybody vote for somebody whose policies don’t help them?

It is an important question and both Obama and McCain need to be able to answer it. Even if the answer is to cut taxes for the top 1% so they can create jobs for the middle class. That is a valid answer. Not a valid answer is to retort with “What are you going to do for yourself?” Most people are hard working and are doing things for themselves. But right now many people are getting caught up in circumstances beyond their control and they want to know what are leaders intend to do. It isn’t refreshing, it is vapid. You of course would rather them ask, “Why do you love Bill Ayers?”

Instead he blew some hot air, had a photo-op and will leave them “hurting” until his big plans trickle down to them.

You have the wrong party for trickle down economics.

The old Soviet Union didn’t fail, they just ran out of money.

Heard the idiot Obama’s wife today talking about pies. Where is the line for free pies. And when is she going to move out of her mansion and into a cardboard box and give the money she got from Rezko to charity so others can have their free pies.

You won’t get anything from Obama but he will take control of your thermostat over and you will either adapt or die . you will send your kids to his army of brainwashed idiots doing his bidding or you will go to jail, this is just a few things that will happen . so vote for Obama maybe you can find your way into his elite circle and prosper ,other wise you will be a grunt for him and his warped government. Obama would not make a pimple on a KGB’s behind but rest assured he will rule just like Putin if you are not on his list you will wake up with radiation poisoning some morning and wonder how in the world that . happened ,so go ahead make Obama’s day and vote for him . So go ahead and vote for the guy This is in no way a reply to any message or post it is only a general message to whom ever.

Why would anybody vote for somebody whose policies don’t help them?

Exactly. Perhaps, however, the more accurate question would be “Why would anybody vote for somebody’s policies when they have been proven to: never help create a meaningful job, never bettered education, never improved health care, never improved our national security, never ended lifelong dependence on welfare, and never required sufficient personal responsibility to be able to conclude it would be wise to find your own way out of a town below sea level town when a hurricane is approaching?”

I guess Obama voters are hoping for a bit more of this:

Real incomes of middle-class families have grown twice as fast under Democrats as they have under Republicans, while the real incomes of working-poor families have grown six times as fast under Democrats as they have under Republicans. No! Instead we will declare you emperor and allow you to implement all your policies and ideas concerning humanity. Then we all will be happy, because you are always right, you know better than anybody else, and most importantly if we follow your orders/instructions we shall flourish.

“Angry Vertebrate” – I guess Obama voters are hoping for a bit more of this:

Because we all know that Presidents, not Congress, controls the spending.

    Uh huh.

Larry Bartels starts from a flawed premise.

But by all means: please do explain to us how bigger government and higher taxes helps working families. This should be fun.

It would be nice if that hypocrite they call Obama just sat there and wrote those people a check from his personal funds. Instead he blew some hot air, had a photo-op and will leave them “hurting” until his big plans trickle down to them.

Let the pandering and vote-buying begin.
