Still Bouncing: Is There A National Poll McCain Isn’t Leading In Now

Six major polls, five McCain leads (and one tie):
USA Today: McCain-50% Obama-46%
Zogby: McCain-48.8% Obama-45.7%
Gallup Daily Tracking: McCain-48% Obama-45%
Gallup Three Day Tracker: McCain-49% Obama-44%
Rassmussen: McCain-48% Obama-47%
CNN: McCain-48% Obama-48%
What’s interesting is that the Gallup three day poll’s results from yesterday were based on questioning conducted completely after Palin’s speech, but only partially after McCain’s. Today’s results were completely after both speeches, and there was another 2 point bump.
What do we conclude? Probably that Palin is undoubtedly helping the ticket, but that McCain is helping himself too.
But it all spells trouble for Obama whose campaign seems to be crumbling a bit as his and the left’s coordinated attack on Palin backfires tremendously in their faces.

There is a great danger here, not the least of which is overconfidence. Yes, it looks bad for Obama which matters most, but the debates are still coming, stumbles, faults and world events can change the numbers fast. It is better to be behind, hungry and being afaraid of failure, which helps people to fight and win. Good numbers can be a bad thing, if we are not careful.

A note to Whistler and a few others: I have been hearing about McCain wanting to appoint many Democrats to his administration and given his past liberal tendencies, I agree wewe may have little to gain from McCain’s election, which you have been saying for a long time. I can only say, he is marginally better than Obama in the short term, and if he doesn’t do too much harm, maybe Prseident Palin in 2012 can get us back on track.

I agree with you , Neiman! We just have to “HOPE” that the American people will be able to see the Big picture. McCain might have a ‘CHANGE” of mind about choosing dems now that he has seen the support that has come with his choice of VP? I think there is a new found energy that Sarah Palin has brought to the table. McCain would have to be blind deaf and dumb to not grasp what the American People really want. McCain needs to be asked these kinds of questions though. We deserve to know what he plans to do. I feel like he would choose better people to surround himself with than Obama ever could.

I think it will get BETTER after the debates… :)

McCain won a LOT of respect from me in picking her and the stuff he said in his speech.

ANY would have been a huge jump as really, I had none before. I think the left is going so insane because their trick of stuffing the ballot in the Republican primaries for McCain has come back to haunt them, (That’s some of it) :)

Compared to the harm an Obama presidency would do, I welcome John McCain and would love to tell him so and thank him for picking Governor Sarah.

I don’t know if he will get it. BUT I believe in my heart that this is such an important election. I believe that McCain will be a much better choice that Obama the most Socialist, Commie Senator in the USA, next to Biden.

    Same here, golfman!

Zsa Zsa: This may be the first time that the V.P. choice might swing an election. I think almost all of the poll changes are because of Palin, but will McCain get it?

Take note, CNN is the only major news source that isn’t showing a lead for McCain. When do they update their poll? I had a professor tell me just this morning that they only aggregate other results, and only post every three days or so.
