Stealing Obama’s Thunder: McCain People To Distribute Tire Gauges At Obama Energy Policy Speech

An awesome response to Obama’s suggestion last week that Americans face down high gas prices by…making sure their tires are properly inflated.

BTW, you can’t “save” energy; you can only use less, which makes society less productive. You lefties just want to kill our economy, because the free enterprise beats socialism every time. robert108 on August 4, 2008 at 01:06 pm

The above is indeed one of your most stupid utterances thus far.

Really 108, it’s ok. You were wrong and that’s ok.
Just say it and move on or:

Nice cherry picking of your own quotes, 108.

Here is what you offered before your squirm set in:

You lie again, rbb! He didn’t “suggest” anything; he claimed right out that we could “save” all the oil we need by inflating our tires, which is complete nonsense. Again, what percentage of the cars on the road have significantly low tire pressure? If you can’t answer that question, you are full of shit.

Robert, you are a Christian conservative radical who makes other people who practice their religion without imposing it on others and with tolerance look bad. You are bitter that you don’t have a candidate that will impose radical religious ideas on the American people in this election, the same American people who overwhelming disagree with all of your positions, reflecting how out of touch with common Americans as you are, Robert.

Being a Christian, you should know about judgement and tolerance. You should know degrading others is not a virtue in the Bible, it’s a sin. You should know that you’re feeling of superiority is fruitless and based on your own need to feel better about yourself and says nothing about others.

What I’ve said here is for your own good. Understand that attacking others and name-calling is not something the follows “Love thy neighbor.” Having such a bitter hatred is like holding a hot coal to throw at a leftie, only you get burned. I do hope you realize the potential that you do have and I wish you all the best.

Woof says: The Mc Campaign is being run by seventh graders.

I agree. But that is because those voting for him have a 7th grade mentality, as demonstrated by a certain individual below.

Only if they’re underinflated in the first place. Duh.- Proof

Who in the hell says “duh” past the age of 12? I think Robert says the same thing as well.

This crew is entertaining as hell.

    Hannitized: Duh… I do!

And so have you on more than one ocassion on this blog. Duh.

Duh.. is a common slang-term used by many, regardless of age. Duh.

  • Neiman

nunez: You apparently have zero understanding of who Robert108 is or you could never have made any of those asinine statements above.

Being a Christian, you should know about judgement and tolerance.

You are thus guilty of judging Robert108! The same sins you judge against others will be exposed in you and the same measurement by which you judge them will be applied against you.

By the way, Jesus is not toleratant of other gods, false ministers and a host of other things. He NEVER tolerates sin, He hates and has judged all sin and while He is ever ready to forgive repentant sinners, He is forgiving them for sinning, He is not forgiving sin.

Robert108 is direct, consistent in his beliefs, occasionally quite irritating and frustrating; but he mostly irritates and frustrates others by using facts and his considerable intellect. He is IMO neither bitter or angry, those are emotions you are reading (projecting) into his words, which feelings on your part are caused by his direct, often blunt nature of debate. I have felt that way on occasion myself, but that is not, IMO, his intention.

While calling someone ignoramus can be viewed as an insult and probably would be better avoided, and it seems to question the intellect of another person; to be ignorant is not an insult, it simply means someone not having knowledge of a specific subject.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/realitybasedbob/ realitybasedbob

1para·phrase Listen to the pronunciation of 1paraphrase
    Pronunciation:
    \ˈper-ə-ˌfrāz,ˈpa-rə-\
    Function: noun
Etymology: Middle French, from Latin paraphrasis, from Greek, from paraphrazein to paraphrase, from para- + phrazein to point out
    Date: 1548

1 : a restatement of a text, passage, or work giving the meaning in another form

2 : the use or process of paraphrasing in studying or teaching composition

I highlighted the important part. Educate yourselves.

  • robert108

    108 At 3:38pm

  • pparets

While I agree with the substance of your position on this, 108, your statement at 7:57 A.M. is what got you into this pissing-match with rbb.

  • robert108

    Here’s what he said, sonny:

He clearly claimed that his bullshit solution would “save all the oil we would get by drilling”.

    robert108 on August 4, 2008 at 09:30 am

Now, you morons have wasted an entire day trying to nitpick a statement that is clearly wrong; no matter how much bullshit you spew, Obama was wrong. We can’t “save all the oil we would get by drilling”. It’s nonsense, because conservation doesn’t produce anything, it only makes do with less, which makes us less productive. Not only that, but his premise about inflating tires and getting tuneups is complete nonsense.
I’ll waste no more of my valuable time with you morons on this one.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/realitybasedbob/ realitybasedbob

We can’t “save all the oil we would get by drilling”.

    That is true.

Why are you pretending that Obama said it?

  • ellinas

Nunez. Uncle Robert clearly lied and got caught.
He squirmed to the left, couldn’t go anywhere.
He squirmed to the right and got bitchslapped.
And on top of that, you say I gave him too much credit.
Now come on! Give him some slack.

Apparently, neither e moron or rbb moron understand what paraphrasing means. They want to distract from that inconvenient truth.

  • robert108

You prove my point yet again. You take my first sentence, then put your

No; since your premise was wrong, the rest of your diatribe was wrong. As they say in computer science: GIGO.
    You can look it up.

  • robert108

How you choose to speak does not entail your intelligence, but on how
comfortable you are in the way you speak to get you ideas across.

Generally, honest people are not as glib as the dishonest ones. The honest ones, like President Bush, actually think about what they are saying, while the glib liars like Clinton and Obama just spew their prepackaged bullshit. They can concentrate on the delivery, since there is no real content in the message. It’s just a bunch of meaningless sounds, since they have no intention of living up to what they say.

  • robert108

It’s in the video, rbb. You should listen to the whole thing. He clearly makes that claim.
    Educate yourself.

  • http://anthonynunez.blogspot.com/ nunez

By the way, there are ‘Christian conservatives’ and ‘radical christian conservatives.’ And if you got past the first sentence, you will understand I said your ‘radical’ views reflect negatively on compassionate Christian conservatives. Your faulty reasoning under minimal analysis, crumbles.

Such as a radical surgery. That does not mean that surgery is radical, it means that this type of surgery is extreme.

‘Educate yourself’ is getting old and quite redundant, I could say that here, but it only would reflect negative on me as it does on you.

A modern vehicle with an Engine Management system needs a light tuneup about every 24,000 miles, which means two tuneups in your 50K example, and that’s to maintain mileage; it still doesn’t increase it. You are apparently confusing general maintenance with engine tuneup.

  • robert108

Now, this one is #2 and #3. I don’t care what side of the isle you are on, the idea that Bush doesn’t have speech writers, such as David Frum, and people like Karl Rove looking at poll numbers to package their message is absurd.

Even the catholic church understands that a persons belief in God can co-exist with the fact of evolution. nunez on August 4, 2008 at 05:21 pm

First, it depends upon which type of evolution, within a kind adapting and thus evolving, sure. Vertical evolution from one kind to another is a whole different kettle of pond scum.

If the Catholic Church or any other Christian demonination accepts the Darwinian theory of vertical human evolution as the root cause of all life, then they have denied the clear language of Genesis, thus they have denied God entirely and are not a Christian denomination at all. It is that simple!

108 is neither Christian nor conservative.

BTW 108, were you ever able to find Obama’s quote where as you claim he said:

we could “save”all the oil we need by inflating our tires,

  • http://insanereindeer.blogspot.com/ Kenny

You can improve your gas mileage by around 3.3 percent by keeping your tires inflated to the proper pressure. Under-inflated tires can lower gas mileage by 0.4 percent for every 1 psi drop in pressure of all four tires. Properly inflated tires are safer and last longer.

As I previously pointed out, that energy savings is next to nothing. Let’s assume that every car on the road gets 30 mpg. That’s way high, but let’s assume. Let’s also assume every car has the dramatically lowered 8.1 PSI under what it should have, to get to that 3.3%. Again, that’s way high, and everyone would notice such a drop, but let’s assume. At those numbers, you will save approximately 1 mile per gallon. Or 1 gallon of gas for every 30 gallons. Those savings are extremely minute. That means every other fill up, you’ll save about 4 bucks.

Taking a step back into reality, most cars don’t get that good of gas mileage, and very few tires are 25% underinflated. So for the average person (assuming EVERYBODY’S tires are slightly under inflated), they’d get about a 1/4th a mile more per gallon, which would result in 5 or 6 miles more per tank. These savings are less impressive than the gas tax holiday that Obama (rightfully) mocked.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/realitybasedbob/ realitybasedbob

I like the wider comments after the missing tag, even though the sidebars get pushed to the bottom…

Thank you for affirming Obama’s suggestion that people check their tire pressure.

You lie again, rbb! He didn’t “suggest” anything; he claimed right out that we could “save” all the oil we need by inflating our tires, which is complete nonsense. Again, what percentage of the cars on the road have significantly low tire pressure? If you can’t answer that question, you are full of shit.

Apparently, those around you feel sorry for you, and want to protect your feelings.

    Hell, Robert.

Not even my young friends in their twenties use that language. My friends who are 30 and above would never use that expression.

Are you denying that you say “duh”?

No. Sometimes I try to relate to the kiddie pool mentality in simple words they understand!
But you put that statement forth as a direct quote from me. Were you lying when you said that, or merely mistaken as usual? (That was a question. You can tell by that little curly line with the dot under it at the end of the sentence!)

How one speaks does not necessarily mean a lack of or a greater intelligence.

I have known some who have a hard time with speaking but score quite highly on intellegence.

How you choose to speak does not entail your intelligence, but on how comfortable you are in the way you speak to get you ideas across.

Please link to where Obama says “we could save all the oil we need”.

  • robert108

The above is indeed one of your most stupid utterances thus far.

Coming from an ignoramus such as you, that’s a compliment. Thanks.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

What are you trying to say?

I was saying that you are full of excrement (as usual) and carelessly (as usual) attributed one of r108′s comments to me.

    Try to keep up,Han-job!

So Obama never said it, you did.

Thank you for clearing that up.

  • robert108

BTW, ignoramus, Federal law requires all newer cars to have a computer controlled system that will pass smog for 50K with no repairs.
Educate yourself. Obama was just bullshitting, like he always does. He’s like you, in that he constantly talks about subjects without having any knowledge of them.

The Mc Campaign is being run by seventh graders.

Wish they were giving out digital tire gauges.
