Startling Statistic - 8 Billion People will Die Within 7 Decades

I gave a start when I read this headline. Then I thought, no, the death rate is still the same. One to a customer. In fact the most accurate headline of all is the one at the top of this post. Nearly every person reading this will be dead in 7 decades.

If there are 6.5 billion on the earth today and we have normal accident, war and infant death, to say 8 billion people will die in 80 years (7 complete decades) is not a hard statistic to accept.

I just had to wonder at the idea that somehow we are beating death or that the death rate is being reduced.

Ain’t nobody getting outta here alive.

Nearly every person reading this will be dead in 7 decades.

Every year life expectancy for US Persons increases.
As more resources are devoted to this pursuit, the rate of lifespan change goes up (increase in life expectancy per year).
If current trends continue, the threshhold of One (1 year increase per year) will occur before 5 decades have passed.

Many people live to what previously was unusual old age.

Unfortunately many are driving cars (Very slowly) directly in front of me.

That’s not quite true, if you believe the Bible. There were two men (no women) in history that did get out of here alive: Enoch and Elijah. They both were taken alive, Enoch in a way not described in detail and Elijah in a chariot of fire while Elisha, his replacement, stood and watched. But, since the Bible tells us that ‘it is appointed unto man once to die and after this, the judgement’, I have a theory that these men may well be the two witness who are martyred in the account in Revelation of the end times.
