We paid for them to set up 500 seats. Those were full. People had brought their own chairs too and so there were extras sitting down. And there were people standing all the way around and to the left of the stage (as you look at the crowd).

Rep. Dan Ruby got two standing ovations. Governor Schafer got three, and his speech ended with a “Draft Schafer” chant.

The parallels of the teabaggers to the KKK are incredibly close. Like the teabaggers, the KKK spoke of being the “real” Americans who stood for solid, middle class, righteous values. The KKK was actually a very popular group among a core of the most ignorant, shallow-intellect, selfish and greedy people in the country.
