We in Europe smile at the histerical(sic) way you guys are making this out to be the end of the world

We in the US smile at how most of you in Europe are not speaking German!
No, this is not the end of the world! (Nice straw man, though!) This is a story of a rich and powerful man brought down by hypocrisy. He prosecuted people for the same crime he was himself committing.

His cases as attorney general included a few criminal prosecutions of prostitution rings and tourism involving prostitutes. In 2004, he took part in an investigation of an escort service in New York City that resulted in the arrest of 18 people on charges of promoting prostitution and related charges.

The most interesting thing to me, is that New York Governor Spitzer was a Democratic “Super delegate”. Wouldn’t it be delightfully ironic if Mrs. Stained Blue Dress Clinton lost the nomination because one of her “Super delegates” had to resign because of a sex scandal?

I blame his wife for this. If she was putting out more for this oversexed politician, maybe he would not need the extracaricular activities. For all the wives out there. Give to your husband to the point he cant handle it anymore. As some of my ancestors (Greeks) used to say: The bucket goes into the well many times. But it is the bucket that wears out first.

I don’t know if I can go along with “just divorce him,” but agreed that withholding love and sex isn’t exactly good for wedded bliss. I was just trying to point out that most marital squabbles involve not one, but two, people, and that IMO the man is generally the one who works hardest to drive the car off the cliff when it happens.

On the other hand, most of the time when I hear about men not getting the fair graces of their wives, they’ve been (rhetorically speaking) emptying the chamber pot of bad behavior in that well. In the case of Spitzer, one possibility is that he took his confrontational, win at all costs attitude into his relationship.
