Spitzer Ends Push For Illegal Immigrant Drivers Licenses, Suddenly Hillary Is Against Them

I told you she told him to back off.  Spitzer is a close Clinton ally, so it’s not surprising he’d take a hit for the boss.  Now Hillary is clear to tell us that she was really against driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants all along.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Wednesday came out against granting driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, after weeks of pressure in the presidential race to take a position on a now-failed ID plan from her home state governor…

“I support Governor Spitzer’s decision today to withdraw his proposal,” Clinton said in a statement. “As president, I will not support driver’s licenses for undocumented people and will press for comprehensive immigration reform that deals with all of the issues around illegal immigration including border security and fixing our broken system.”

Clinton stumbled when asked about the issue during a Democratic debate two weeks ago, and her new position comes the day before another debate where opponents are expected to raise the issue again.

Insiders in Spitzer’s camp are saying, for certain, that the order for this climbdown came from the Clintons.

Of course, Spitzer could just be looking to scapegoat Hillary, but then this was convenient for Hillary anyway so that’s probably a moot point.

Regardless, it’s amazing how Hillary and her allies can engage in all this rather cynical posturing and still be the front runner.

Sounds to me like Hillary’s going to push for amnesty, right.

I’m feeling better and better at our chances to win this thing after all.  That is IF the Republicans aren’t stupid enough to nominate a moron that also wants amnesty.

Bill,

Only if you can explain why you were dumb enough to believe her the first time, when she was for it before she was against it.

“Radical” politician with no principles, no courage, and no leadership ability.

Predictable.

Now do you see why Hillary doesn’t dare go after Romney for “flip-flopping” in the General Election?

It would be like a man covered in s*** telling the other guy he stinks.

Hillary may set a new world record for number of positions held on one major issue in less that 30 days.  I’ve lost track.
