Spending The [Expletive] Out Of Our Tax Dollars
One has to wonder if this guy had his speech written by Karl Rove or something…
If Democrats win back control of the U.S. House of Representatives in November, U.S. Rep. Jim Moran said he would use his position in the majority to help funnel more funds to his Northern Virginia district. …
“When I become chairman [of a House appropriations subcommittee], I’m going to earmark the (expletive) out of it,” Moran buoyantly told a crowd of 450 attending the event.
No link, got this via a press release from the RNC in my inbox.
What I’m wondering is how exactly this is different from business as usual.
I also don’t get why anyone thinks that the amount of federal tax dollars a politician can bring home to a state/community is a good measure of his/he job performance. I mean, they’re our tax dollars. Wouldn’t it be better if we could just keep them in our pockets in the first palce?
That would seem to be more efficient than filtering it through several layers of government bureaucracy first.
