What happens now that Bush and Cheney are on their way out?
The rancid vitriol of the left has been directed at those two for so long, and by default onto anything and everything American, that it won’t be long before they start looking around for another target. They have to. They’re addicted to being bitter and disaffected.
Yeah, I know they’re all in a collective swoon over Obama’s election but by the time he’s sworn in some of that magic will have worn off. Their excuses for hating America in general will one by one evaporate as Obama takes office – their candidate won and they won’t even have the excuse of a stolen election by the Republicans. Any claim of cheating will pale beside Obama’s 8 million vote win.
Let’s see – we’ll be leaving Iraq as soon a Obama can make it happen. Nothing to hate there.
Obama will push for his social programs and aim to spread the wealth around. College tuitions for all! Health care for the taking! And there we have the answer. What will they turn their hostility toward next?
Obama.
But, wait! He’s their hero! Why would they turn on him when he’ll give them everything they ever wanted?
Because he cannot possibly deliver all the things he promised, that’s why. He sold the left a bill of goods to get elected, promising everything from crippling the hated military, crushing the coal industry for the sake of the global warming crowd, to putting a chicken in every pot. The problem is there are simply not enough chickens to go around and everyone will want one. Or two. Or three.
And when the far left realizes that they’re not going to get everything he promised, that there really won’t be a Shangri-la just because they put him in office they’ll turn on him like rabid hyenas. It’ll be quite fun to watch, actually.
The left and their compadres in the media will suddenly discover that, hey, this guy really didn’t tell us all about himself. That tape the LA Times has been hoarding will suddenly turn up, and someone will leak his sealed college records. Someone in the media may even find his drug dealer. Oh, and thay’ll have the sudden epiphany that Biden really is an idiot.
So….for all the middle American conservatives out there – don’t panic. Just kick back and watch the show. The left needs a hate fix and they won’t have Bush/Cheney around to demonize any more. And the conservatives won’t have to demonize Obama. Don’t sink that low.
The left will do it for you and being low is something they’re used to.

Evidently young Andy has never read the postings on DailyKos, or Democratic Underground. It is not just arguing points with people getting heated about issues, it can be down right evil. It is shocking how much hate there is in some of those people.

The Left has a boundless ability of finding someone or something to hate. It is the foaming rage, directed at the hapless target of opportunity, that is the fundamental driving force behind the Leftist movement.

They are motivated by fear, hate and envy. Their cadres stroke up fear and use it as justification for rage and doing anything that needs to be done to obtain and retain power.

This, I would say, is the fundamental difference between Americans (those who love America, the Constitution and all those Norman Rockwell things) and US-based Leftists.

I recall the time, as a very young kid, seeing a printed out flyer of a rat with Nixon’s face on it, stomping on hapless Vietnamese victims. Then more drawings from the same era showing riots where hippies were battling and getting bloodied by porculent cops, drawn to look like grotesque pigs.

And then it was Ford, who was inept and bumbling. Then Reagan who was a murderous, lying befuddled old man with Alzheimers. Then it was Bush, senior, depicted as a wimp, even though he served in combat in a dive bomber. Then the Leftist attack machine was directed against Gingrich, Anita Bryant, Dr. Laura, and Ann Coulter, and so on and so on…

The Left hates.

It’s what they do.

- Believe that The Constitution is a “Living Document”

I feel a lot of sympathy for conservatives who are unhappy about the election outcome. We have all rooted for a losing side during an election, and it can be a bit depressing to see the side you dislike triumph. So I don’t take pleasure in the misery of rightwing commentators. With a few exceptions. President Obama will have about 6 months to show progress on the Left agenda. As Hungry Bear pointed out he will have make good on promises to get the troops out of Iraq, close down Guantanamo, free the detainees, apologize to all of the middle East excepting Israel, and close down the Conservative voice on the airways. Perhaps another thing or two. Not much to do the first 100 days or six months whatever—the Dem’s ought to be able to do that without breaking a sweat. However, failing that the Left-wing crazies will be in the streets, tipping cars, breaking glass and being their usual obnoxious selves.

Bush will continue to be blamed. They will say the results of such and such mess is due to the policy of the Bush administration and Obama is having to deal with it.

It is the same thing the Governor of Michigan (Granholm) has done with Engler (previos Gov). When the economy for Michigan is in the tank or continuing to tank, Unemployment, ect it is because she is having to deal with what the previous Governor has given her.

The blame will continue.
