Sorry For The Wonkiness

For about an hour this morning Say Anything probably looked pretty weird to you readers.  We were doing some work under the hood to try and alleviate some browser lock-up issues that have been happening intermittently for a while now.

I think we’ve got the issue fixed.  There were a few javascript errors on the site, but most of the problem had to do with the RedLasso embedded clips I’ve been using.  Which is too bad.  RedLasso is a great service which allows you to create clips out of raw television feeds.  I’m going to email them to see if there’s a fix to institute, but until then there will be no more RedLasso embeds on this site as removing them seems to have fixed the lockup problems.

I knew it had something to do with the videos, but thought maybe it was on my end.  Thanks for the tuneup.

Hmmm, I’ve been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what was hanging my Expression Engine blog. Please keep us updated. I find that if I close out the browser and then open it again, the problem resolves, until the next time. I think I have the problem solved and then it pops up again. I’m going to try to determine if my problems coordinate with the posting of a new Redlasso video and whether they started when I first started posting Redlasso.

...browser lock-up issues that have been happening intermittently for a while now…

Thank you!

I thought it might have been on my end.

It’s a testament to your content Rob, that my browser kept locking up and I kept coming back anyway.  I think it locked up 3 times in one day.  But as others have stated, I thought it was my own problem.  Good to see it’s fixed.

Thanks for the compliment, Jay.

Red Lasso, by the way, is being pretty great about this.  They’ve got people on their team trying to figure out what went wrong and fix it so we can have the clips back again.

The war against illegal plunder has been fought since the beginning of the world. But how is… legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime. Then abolish this law without delay … If such a law is not abolished immediately it will spread, multiply and develop into a system.

Thanks Rob for the note.  This is Gil from Redlasso.com.  Since pointing this out, we have been working very hard at correcting the situation.  We think we have it fixed as all tests are coming back positive.  We have spent the last 4 days working to make sure that everyone has a positive user experience on Rob’s blog. Keep in mind, we are dealing with Flash video… so make sure to update your flash software.  Slow connections and older computers might still have unrelated issues.  Overall, performance has been dramatically improved.

If any user has any specific issues moving forward, please feel free to direct your questions to .  We would be happy to help you too.

Now get back to reading Rob’s blog.

Thanks for the time,
Gil
