Someone Should Tell Heidi Heitkamp Pipeline Capacity Is Key To The Health Of North Dakota’s Oil Industry

North Dakota’s top oil regulator Lynn Helms notes that, as more pipeline capacity serving the Bakken oil fields comes on line, the discounts Bakken oil producers have been forced to accept on their products are easing.

Which just proves how important pipeline capacity is to North Dakota. Trucking the oil out of the oil patch, and even putting it on the rails, is a lot more expensive than pipelines. And riskier environmentally too. Trucks crash, and trains derail, a lot more often than pipelines leak.

Meanwhile, Democrat Senate candidate Heidi Heitkamp is out on the east coast fundraising with Democrats who oppose the Keystone pipeline and think fracking should be regulated by the federal government instead of the states.

Of course, Heitkamp will claim that she supports the Keystone pipeline, but actions speak louder than words don’t they? And electing Heitkamp means another vote for the leadership of Harry Reid and other anti-oil and anti-coal Democrats.
