So Much For Gun Control

The Brady Campaign To Prevent Gun Ownership has released rankings on gun control in the various states, and the results are interesting when correlated violent crime statistics.

Brady has issued grades for states. These grades are gun control rankings from A to F, with an A indicating more gun control and more in line with Brady’s goals. Strangely, most of the increase in violent crime occurred in states that earned higher Brady rankings.

Obviously you cannot conclude from this that gun control is a cause of increases in violent crime, but certainly this shows that gun control is rather ineffective in controlling violent crime. Perhaps the Centers for Disease Control was right when one of its studies showed no correlation between gun control and violent crime rates.
Not that the gun control nuts are about to let things like “truth” and “reality” get in their way.

Stand and fight laws are coming to a State near you, soon. It was absolute stupidity to ever pass a law against self-defence to begin with. Our governor, Ed”Da Thug” Rendell is salivating over passing highly restrictive guncontrol laws during his second term. He has no need to worry about the opinions of PA residents, he can not run for governor again, and has already raised his pay and lifetime pension/medical benefits package. Ain’t the Democrat Party hypocricy wonderful.

North Dakota only got a D. I’m thinking it’s fairly hard to get an F.

Damn, they must be grading on a curve because Texas only got a D-. I was hoping for an F. Well, the Brady Campaign are wetting their pants at a proposed law for the 2007 state legislative session that does not require some one to attempt to flee before using deadly force to defend themselves. Hopefully that will get us an F.

Anyone who looks at this issue rationally has already come to this conclusion.
