Slate: “Believing In Vote Fraud” May Be Dangerous For Democracy
Yes, that’s an actual headline:
So why is it so dangerous? Because combating vote fraud might *gasp*, DISENFRANCHISE VOTERS!
Nobody is suggesting the Democratic get-out-the-vote efforts are perfect. But the suggestion that Barack Obama, through ACORN, is systematically working to get Huey, Dewey, and Louie to steal elections, and that therefore minorities and people of color should be disenfranchised, is cynical beyond belief.
Nobody is suggesting that minority voters be disenfranchised. Those concerned about vote fraud want all eligible voters to get to cast a ballot. Once. Legally. In the district they live in.
What is so unreasonable about that? And what is so unreasonable about believing that ACORN (a pro-Obama group that has not only received $800,000 in payments from the Obama campaign but also employed Obama himself at one time) is up to no good when the group files thousands upon thousands of fraudulent voter registrations all over the country?
Nothing. Except that it’s terribly inconvenient for Obama and the liberal left and thus must be some nefarious, and racist, attempt to disenfranchise voters.
