Since They Love Obama’s Plan To Limit Executive Pay, MSNBC’s Anchors Will Be Happy To Take A Cut

Right?

Rachel Maddow was absolutely giddy talking about President Obama’s pending decision to limit executive pay at firms receiving bailout funds. Maddow was questioning where the “loopholes” are and how executives will get around them.
Well, since GE, parent company of MSNBC, is partipating in a taxpayer guarantee of its debt, I expect MSNBC anchors will fall under the Obama salary cap, right?

I expect that, as with most liberals, the talking heads at MSNBC’s devotion to their political principles will fade a bit when said principles are about to be applied to them. They want to ride in limos and private jets while telling the rest of us to ride our bikes and turn down the thermostat in the name of “global warming.” The want to call for more government spending, and higher taxes, even as they avoid paying taxes themselves.
“Hypocrites” is the proper term for this.

Your responding to wrong person, Rob didnt say that, Kenny did.

The only media company in more dire financial straits than GE’s NBC family of outlets is the New York Times Company which is already in the hole to that Mexican billionaire some $250 million at 14% interest!

Poor Jack Welch! The one bad decision he made while at the helm of one of the two most successful (ROI) and best-run companies in America, was recommending Immelt as his replacement, and his beloved GE is quickly becoming the corporate equivalent of Dresden after WWII.

Considering just how enamored those on the Left are with the word “fairness”, I suggest that the only “fair” thing to do is to require everyone who receives “bailout” funds to take a cut in compensation on a par with that mandated for corporate CEOs. If the CEO of Bank of American is required to take a 75% pay cut for taking federal money, then by all means so should everyone else. Union members and non-members alike who will be building all those bridges roads and tunnels to nowhere in particular. Truckers who haul the cement. School administrators and educators (there are no more real teachers left anymore!). Federal or contract workers who will be “sprucing up” all those half vacant federal building, and graffiti-laden parks and parking garages. Governors, mayors, and everyone else who is being paid off for their support of Democrats with taxpayer money. Let them all take the same hit.

After all, there’s nothing that says they have to take the money… and fair is fair!

My question is this really legal, or if challenged would SCOTUS say the Executive office is overstepping thier bounds?

If Government can regulate what pay scale is for a company, what is to stop them from regulating other portions of the business?

    Does this set a precedent?

  • docdave

The Federal government is really out of control regardless who is managing it. The courts have not reigned them in limiting them to the powers delegated in the constitution so now they think they can do whatever they want.

Yes, what other reason do they have for doing it?

    Onslaught,

May I suggest a correction? Had you just said “Inability to learn.” you’d have been dead on.

At some point, it stops being hypocrisy and instead becomes treason.

    I know that Sanity.

I was just thinking of Rob when I was responding to that remark by Kenny, because they hold the same view.

The bottom line is Rob is the hypocrite.

What say we move on the colleges and the egregious salaries the people get there. No wonder college costs are soaring. I think the government should set pay for college professors at just slightly more than union government school teachers, so we can get god value for the money wasted.

Limited salaries is the fastest way to limit crap sandwiches at the bailout counter.

  • Hannitized

    Rob,

If it is suggested that it’ll apply to them, they will.

Well, until that time comes, they enjoy the right to enjoy innocence until proven guilty. That is their fucking right.

Correct Rob? You are the asshat that cries about having to wear a fucking seat belt and having your constitutional rights violated, right? Well, don’t these people have constitutional rights?

    Or, are you a hypocrite?

  • headward0

Haven’t you people learned about liberals? It’s ok to cap salaries and raise taxes. Because it’s not their money that’s affected. They don’t pay taxes nor are affected by this cap.

The big question is what is going to happen to these contracts between the banks and their CEO’s? And how does Obama have the right to write legislation on money that was already accepted?

That would be like I got a loan from a bank for a car for 5%. Then after a few months of making payments the bank comes back and changes the terms of the loan without me agreeing to it.

Of course they should be held to the same rules and standards that anyone else is, but of course, being Liberal Democrats we know they won’t be. The arrogance of the left is exceeded only by their ignorance and total lack of character.

Maybe we could cap the salaries of school administrators? I believe there are some districts down in So Cal where the superintendents make as much as or more than the governor!
(And if Mr. Lyin’court is listening: They do take government money!)

Maybe Obama put put out a little book (in a red binding?) that would tell us all what is acceptable for us to earn?

They want to ride in limos and private jets while telling the rest of us to ride our bikes and turn down the thermostat in the name of “global warming.”

I always find it quite amusing for a television anchor to tell us to “stay tuned” for more tips on saving energy! Most CRT TVs consume power even when they’re switched off!

If you’re really serious about saving power, tell people to unplug their TVs and then then shut down your transmitters! That’ll show ‘em!

Since the idea of limiting the pay of execs at bailed out enterprises distresses you cons so much, let me suggest that you all contribute freely to make up their losses.

I know how you middle and lower income cons slavishly worship the wealthy and drop to your knees when in their presence. Well, put you money where your, er, mouth is (when it’s not slobbering rich cock) and start a rescue fund for the downtrodden CEOs! Perhaps a door-to-door collection or maybe a Telethon a la Jerry Lewis!

    Just a word on MSMBC’s anchors, Assholes….

  • http://insanereindeer.blogspot.com/ Kenny

No, but that is not the topic of your post. I am suggesting they are not going to be hypocrites about the salary cap.

If it is suggested that it’ll apply to them, they will.

  • Hannitized

So, you’re suggesting that liberals who rail against excessive energy consumption and then hop into their private jets aren’t hypocrites?

No, but that is not the topic of your post. I am suggesting they are not going to be hypocrites about the salary cap.

The fact you added other things to that argument doesn’t change my position of the former.

We the workers of the country should show the socialist idiots some true workers’ power and go on strike. Every last one of us who holds a paying job and pays taxes. Let’s see them replace us with homeless people, schizos, gay slackers, etc. One week. I guarantee the whole system would cease. Go ahead, try to make us work on demand for their idiocy.

When we stand up and say “NO” that way it will be more loud and clear than any revolt ever could be.
