“Shut Up White Boy!” New Orleans Council Votes To Tear Down Projects, Ugly Protests Erupt

I don’t think I can add anything to the excellent coverage of this that Michelle Malkin has over at her site.

Go watch the video of the “protesters” in action. They were angry that they couldn’t get into the Council chambers and accused the Council and police of being racist. The fact is that the Council chamber was filled to its capacity of 300. To allow more in would have been illegal and a violation of fire code ordinances. But, of course, racism just has to be the reason they were excluded.

Check out the picture of a woman named Sharon Jasper, one of the “victims” who just gets by in her hand-to-mouth existence and the one who calls the Councilman a “white boy”, sitting in front of her 60 inch TV in her hardwood floored project apartment. Terrible way to live. Just….terrible. How do these poor people ever make it?

I personally spoke to some of the local TV reporters who were at the protest and the council meeting and asked them if it looked like some of those protesters were out of town agitators or professional protesters.  They told me that some of the “protesters” were out of town rich white kids. They said they were driving cars like BMW’s and had license plates from as far away as New York. One reporter told me that one of them said that he got extra college credit for being there and protesting.

Those projects are, to put it mildly, a menace. They’re havens for drugs, violent crime, prostitution and general squalor. In other words, then end result of generations of the welfare culture. The city wants to tear them down and replace them with mixed income neighborhoods with tighter controls on the inhabitants. No more wild west.

And somehow this is racist.

The only racism apparent is the woman shouting at a Councilman, “Shut up white boy!” over and over again.

Oh, and by the way….I don’t know how it works in other places but down here when you tell the police they’ll just have to take you to jail and you’ll do as you damn well please until they do - they will. Watch the video and see what happens to the guy who challenges NOPD.

And I would like to extend an invitation to those out of town agitators to take an evening stroll through the St. Bernard housing project. I hear that the C.J. Peete project is lovely in the evening as well. I’m sure they’ll meet some interesting people there.

Idiots.
