Shouldn’t Obama Have Visited Iraq Before Giving His Major Iraq Speech?
Remember when Obama told us, in response to criticism from the McCain campaign, that he was going to visit Iraq to see what was happening on the ground out in the war zone?
Wouldn’t it have been nice if he’d made that trip before he started delivering major policy speeches about Iraq so that he could at least pretend to have some semblance of knowledge about what we’ve done in Iraq over the last couple of years?
Why should we take Obama’s pronouncements on Iraq seriously when he won’t even visit the country, like he promised, before setting his policy on the war in stone?
