Shocker: Obama Administration Claiming Stimulus Jobs Created In Non-Existent Congressional Districts
Did someone put ACORN in charge of counting up the stimulus jobs? It sure looks this way according to this story (originally broken by a couple of bloggers).
Here’s a stimulus success story: In Arizona’s 9th Congressional District, 30 jobs have been saved or created with just $761,420 in federal stimulus spending. At least that’s what the website set up by the Obama Administration to track the $787 billion stimulus says.
There’s one problem, though: There is no 9th Congressional District in Arizona; the state has only eight Congressional Districts.
There’s no 86th Congressional District in Arizona either, but the government’s recovery.gov Web site says $34 million in stimulus money has been spent there.
In fact, Recovery.gov lists hundreds of millions spent and hundreds of jobs created in Congressional districts that don’t exist.
Millions spent and hundreds of jobs claimed as “created” in Congressional districts that don’t exist.
But hey, let’s totally put these idiots in charge of managing our health care for us. They won’t screw it up. They promise.
By the way, wondering why the federal government is breaking the “stimulus” statistics down by congressional district? Why, so that Democrats in those districts can brag on the numbers as they run for re-election, naturally.
That the numbers are more often than not inflated, or totally bogus, is considered to be a feature of this sytem and not a bug. At least by the Democrats.
