Turns out, per the leaked minutes of CIA briefings of Congress, that leaders of both parties in Congress were explicitly briefed about the use of the tactic.

My guess is that Barack Obama would have been briefed like this too…if he’d been a senior enough member of the Senate to actually get to sit in on some of these committees.
Regardless, I’m not a fan of leaks like this in general. Especially when these leaks are motivated by politics. There were more than enough conveniently leaked documents under Bush (always leaked out of context so that they looked worse than they were) and it didn’t do anyone any good. I don’t like it any better now that it’s happening to Obama.
But with Obama it’s almost understandable. Almost. I mean, did he really expect to stab our intelligence officials in the back the way he’s done while simultaneously expecting those very people he’s stabbing to keep his own party’s hypocrisy on the subject a secret?
Obama never should have opened this can of worms.

This whole environment of "gotcha" politics is getting pretty disgusting. While I understand philosophical and ideological differences will exist, will we ever get these politicians back to being Americans first, party hacks maybe a distant third? What in the world was Pelosi trying to accomplish by lying, and didn't it occur to her that in the swamp of DC someone might be able to prove she was? Are there no people of honor left in the government? I am beginning to think the best thing that could happen to this country would be to cut DC loose and start all over again.

Obama is looking at jailing people involved in this. It's doubtful that, if he does, he'll stop at those psychologists. The CIA is protecting itself from politically motivated prosecutions by saying, in essence, "you jackals knew about it too…if we go down, you're coming down with us."

I don't like leaks either, because I think they are dangerous, but I can't fault these guys. You have a witch hunt going on, we have to expect them to defend themselves, and the only way to really do it, is to prove that those hunting are lying.

We've heard that repeated lie that There were no WMD's ever found in Iraq heard, and refuted them so many times that it is clear that the Left are not engaging in a good-faith mistaken belief, but merely parroting the Party propaganda.

I really don't like the leaks. I totally understand badland's comment about protecting themselves from a witch hunt; but I have to agree with Rob, leaks are bad. If you sign a non-disclosure agreement, you need to work within the system. I heard along time ago, if you run a major organization/company, the best way to keep from being brought down for embezzling is to not take the first five dollars. Same concept applies.

I don't think this is a leak though. At about 1:15 into this it says "briefings released by the Director of National Intelligence." To me, it implies that the info released was reviewed and deemed Unclassified. That is different than a leak.
