Shocker: It Turns Out That Mitt Romney Is Mormon

Yeah, that’s about all I got out of this.

I’m still left scratching my head as to why this speech was hyped all week.  It seems to have sucked up all the oxygen in the GOP primary race since Monday.

Which is great for Romney I guess, and shows that his media people really know how get some attention, but ultimately did he say anything that really matters with regard to his qualifications for President?

Hi everyone - my first post here…

I think at the very least he informed the misinformed that the founding fathers meant freedom OF religion not FROM religion and that as pres he would keep his faith at his side but not let it dictate his policies.

Not that I’m FOR Romney but at least he had the guts to express what most of us feel as far as religion goes - FREEDOM to let people worship as they please without making turning us into a “religious state”.

Letting people practice “freedom of religion” does not mean some religions get special preference (making everyone else follow their “rules” - like radical Islam or any other radical wing of a religion ) nor should it have preference over atheism.

Just my 2 cents

Who knew it would take a presidential campaign and politics to put the topics of religion and faith out their for national discussion?

BTW...he did not define Mormonism and cleverly left out the part where his religion parts ways with Christianity.

that would be “out there for national discussion”

Wait...what ? A Mormon ? I thought he said he was a marmot. I wasn’t about to vote for someone like that.

So it’s about religion.....hmmmmm. Well, that’s different. I wouldn’t vote for him if he thought he was a small, furry woodland creature but if it’s just about what religion he is, maybe I’ll have to take another look.

Because that just doesn’t make any difference how he worships if he can lead this country.

The future ain’t what it used to be.....

For many of us who are religious, and consider Mormonism a cult, it is important to hear the man speak candidly and openly about his religion, his views of others religions, and the effects of religion in his run for President.  That’s why it’s hyped.

did he say anything that really matters with regard to his qualifications for President?

Did you listen to it?  He spoke in words about the Presidency that most in the GOP field have not done. He spoke of religion and it’s role in America and it is VERY important that the next President of the USA understand this in correct perspective, both historically and current day.

I think Rob hates me… I mean, just look at the pic he took of me!
