Shocker: Bush-Bashing Still Not Playing Well In Theaters

After a lot of hype from liberals about a strong opening, it looks like liberal Hollywood’s latest attack on the Bush administration is going to fail.
Miserably.
To the tune of millions in lost investment.

There’s been tremendous interest by the public in the box office fate of Oliver Stone’s W. for its second weekend in release. Well, it ran out of steam. QED International/Lionsgate’s Bush biopic sank 58% to No. 7 with a $5.3M weekend from 2,050 dates and new cume of $18.7M. The $30M negative cost film should end up with $23M domestic box office gross by the end of its North American run. That means, with a $25M P&A investment and Lionsgate’s distribution fees, the film won’t recoup.

And this is happening at a time when box office sales are up 35% over the previous year:

Overall, this was a great weekend for Hollywood at the box office with $136M, up 35% from last year.

At some point you’d think the Hollywood left would get it: The movie-going public generally isn’t interested in your insane hatred of Bush and all things conservative/Republican.

I’m a strong opponent of Bush… but this movie just wasn’t done well at all. Characters were superficial and very much based on whatever preconceived stereotypes a 12-year old might have about those in the administration. It seemed more like an “America’s Most Wanted” re-enactment of a Bush biography.

Trailers of Stones “W” were just plain Silly…

Stone still takes some “Serious” Drugs..

I suspect, History will judge George W. Bush far better than the reguard he’s held in by the current Communist Take-Over.

It’s not hard to make a movie and have it make $$$$. Just get a bunch of chihuahuas, or a bunch of cute teenage kids singing and dancing, and voila! I have talked to quite a few people who HATE Bush, and they either thought it was dumb, or some of them said they liked him better after seeing it! I heard from 5 people that they felt sorry for him, hadn’t realized how tough he had it. I haven’t seen it, but the trailer makes him out to be dumber than a post, and when Josh Brolin tries to imitate his mannerisms, he looks like he is epileptic.

    Oops.

    Imagine that….another anti-American movie tanks.

Its tough to go to ANY movies lately. I’m waiting for Lone Survivor sometime in late 2009 – maybe.

Why would anyone bother to watch it? Bush isn’t an interesting person so there is little appeal to the average person. There’s no running explosions, shoot outs and hot babes in it so that eliminates about 85% of men viewers. There’s no mushy love scenes with handsome leading men so that eliminates about 85% of women viewers. So what’s left? A handful of bitter liberals who are too tight to waste eight bucks for a ticket.

The movie tanked? Consider it an “in kind” contribution to the Obama campaign!
