Great rant by Shep, although he’s mistaken that the CRA was put in place in 1994. Carter was the brainchild of the CRA.
One great point Shep makes at the end is that the administration/congress is trying to distract us from the “day of judgement” that’s coming. That’s so true.

Rush Limbaugh recently said: “I am all for the AIG bonuses” and attacked the Obama administration for trying to undo them. He also blasted Dem efforts to get the names of the AIG bonus recipients as “McCarthyism.”
So are the bonus’s good by Conservative standards????? Yes or no?

A complete investigation is needed. I suspect we would find that this banking mess was crafted by the DNC years ago. Why else would they stall every effort to audit Freddi and Fannie over the past six years. They needed to keep it rolling untill 2008 and then act like it was a surprise.

Anyone receiving a bonus from their place of employment is between that person and their employer. Now, if a Company has to be bailed out by the Government. The Government has the right, IMO, to restrict certain Company policies. One being the bonus options. Now, if the Government is too stupid to do that or unwilling, then they have to live with their mistake. The needless howling by ALL the politicians only show how incompetent they have been. Now they are using the AIG fiasco to pull the old shell game on the American people. Don’t look at what we have done, only look to what we are pointing at.

Sorry Rich and Mickey, we are too far past that point. It’s time we take our government back from these folks. They need to be stopped and stopped fast. Pitch forks and shovels instead of tea parties is what should be happening. It is time for the people that make this country work take a day or three and make our voices heard.
This is going to get ugly as we go forward, as Shep states. They have been playing three card monty with us to keep our eye off the ball intentionally.
America needs a house cleaning. And a senate cleaning. Every one of them.

Private sector bonuses are nobody’s business typically. The fact that the government overstepped its bounds and bailed out AIG means the money comes with strings attached. Since democrats including Dodd and Obama removed the restrictions on bonuses from the contract with AIG, the bonuses are legal and the outraged fiegned. There is nothing ‘good’ about such government involvement.

Should not expect more from a guy whose father based the 1968 Gun Control Act almost entirely on the 1938 Nazi Gun Control Act, lied about it despite multiple eye-witnesses claiming they saw a copy of the 1938 Nazi Gun Control Act in the senior Dodd’s office, and his son has been a gun control nutcase similarly all his career. Seems some people just do not have a grasp of reality that everyone else is expected, by them, to adhere to.
