Sheehan To Campaign Against Pelosi, Democrats Reaping The Nutroots They Sowed

Cindy Sheehan is saying that she’s going to challenge Pelosi for her House seat in the next election if Gramma Nancy doesn’t bring articles of impeachment against the President. Despite the absurdity of a Sheehan candidacy, I think this does illustrate just how much trouble the Democrats are in for 2008.
The media concentrates relentlessly on the woes of the Bush administration, but the reality is that Bush isn’t running in 2008. And while Democrats may have rode the “luxury of opposition” (which allowed them deride Republican policies endlessly without having to actually accomplish anything themselves) to majorities in Congress in 2006, right now approval numbers for the Congress they’re in charge of are running in the teens.
The reason for that strong sense of disapproval is almost irrelevant. When voters are upset with the in-power party, the out-of-power party is almost always the beneficiary whether they deserve it or not (which is what happened for the Dems in 2006 anyway). All the Republicans really need to do to win big in the next election is capitalize on all that dissatisfaction.
2008 is a long way off yet, but right now Democrats are on a course for disaster. Of course, the Republicans have some baggage of their own to deal with (mostly self-inflicted wounds like the illegal immigration amnesty debacle) but still. The idea of a strong, united and self-assured Democrat majority is an illusion.

I watched Pelosi in San Francisco a few months back get raked over the coals by the liberal crazies. These are the nuts that they created–they are now on the loose. They will go after their leftist leaders first–when that doesn’t get them what they want they will be in the streets. Why do I have a premonition of bad things coming out of these people? We will be governing this country from the disorder in the streets–sounds more and more like the Gaza Strip.

when you are so far left that you are calling out Fancy Nancy… does it border on brain damage? Seriously, does she need to be hospitalized.

Why is she-man still getting press?

Sheehan may be driven by grief but I think what you’re seeing is what happens when a normal American gets mad. All you usually hear are the nuts ranting.

We do need another party who’s only concern is the preservation of the country. If only the base of normal American Citizens would get as mad as Sheehan about all the lunacy that is going on in the government, maybe we could get rid of the left and the right and save this country.

I am trying to get a conservative digg alternative going called GOP Hub (GOPHub.com). Anything you can do to help with this effort would be awesome. Plus feel free to submit any articles you write here on your blog :) . Take care and have a great week!

The idea of a strong, united and self-assured Democrat majority is an illusion.

Furthermore, the farther to the Left the Democrat party slides in its effort to placate the nuts and the radicals, the more it risks losing more and more centrists and independents in the general election next November.

The November, 2006 triumph of Joe Lieberman, who was unwilling to surrender to Islamist terror, unwilling to abandon Israel, and unwilling to give in to his party’s radical crazies, is very instructive.
