Sex Offenders Housed With Foster Kids?

Apparently a loophole in North Dakota’s law may be allowing foster kids being kept at juvenile rehabilitation centers to be housed with sex offenders. What’s more, it is not the policy of at least one of these rehabilitation centers to notify parents as to whether or not their kids are being housed with a sex offender.

Wow. More evidence that our oh-so-average AG is a headline chaser and not a leader. Let’s see how long it takes him to get out a strong statement opposing this practice (now that it’s been noticed by others). And not a chance that any of the ND media thinks to ask him “where ‘ya been on this one the past 8 years?” The Forum, AP, Bis Trib, and their like would probably think it’s ill manners to ask WS that logical follow-up. Especially when he’s been working overtime fumbling the Sioux Logo case, and hiding under his desk on the work comp case. Where are term limits when we need them? Is it impossible to imagine a challenge to WS at the next convention? Come on, it’s Christmas!!!

I worked with a group home in Eastern ND (state facility) we had a sex offender living in the home as well… I think it is common practice. This is news worthy I believe. I think the biggest problems a lot of places don’t take sex offenders.

What goes on North Dakota, stay’s in North Dakota.
That is the attitude of the people involved in this.
You the ones that are whining on this and other blogs should play a more active role in this if it truly concerns you. Get your banners ready and fly them high in front of the offices of people with the authority to do something. Whining and criticising is not enough unless that is all you want to do.

Thank’s for reding my blog on this,Rob. While I notified some of the press, i.e. Bismark Tribune and Minot Daily News, they apparently don’t think this is a newsworthy issue. Hopefully someone will take the facts to heart.

EC, it often seems like North Dakota’s media isn’t much interested in any controversial story.

I think the problem with local rags is they don’t want to burn any bridges or do they want to make anyone mad. I think this is why team ND never gets any scrutany.
