Senator Max Baucus: Democrat Health Care Bill Costs $2.5 Trillion
A rather startling admission from Senator Baucus:

“Just for a second — health care reform, whether you use a ten-year number or when you start in 2010 or start in 2014, wherever you start at, so it is still either $1 trillion or it’s $2.5 trillion, depending on where you start…”
The trick is, as I’ve explained before, that Democrat health care bill starts collecting revenues years before it starts actually covering people. Meaning that, if looked at through a narrow time window of a decade, the years of revenues with no payouts offset later deficits.
If looked at long term, this bill creates huge deficits. But the Democrats just don’t want to talk about those. They’d rather us just look at the short term and pretend like this isn’t another massive new entitlement program that our country can ill afford.
