Senator Kerry: There Was No Bloodbath After We Withdrew From Vietnam

Of course, John Kerry and the rest of his fellow anti-war radicals of the time were a big force behind our withdrawal from Vietnam, so of course he’s going to deny responsibility for the bloodbath which followed that retreat:

You gotta love how he talks of the victims of the communist “re-education camp” as thriving members of Vietnam’s society today.  As though that re-education camp were a summer camp where they learned how to weave baskets and went skinny-dipping when the counselors weren’t around.  Of course, Wikipedia tells a different story:

The last official American military action in South East Asia occurred on 15 May 1975. Forty-one U.S. military personnel were killed when the Khmer Rouge seized a U.S. merchant ship, the SS Mayagüez. The episode became known as the Mayagüez incident.

The Pathet Lao overthrew the royalist government of Laos in December, 1975. They established the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

Hundreds of thousands of South Vietnamese officials, particularly ARVN officers, were imprisoned in reeducation camps after the Communist takeover.  Tens of thousands died and many fled the country after being released. Up to two million civilians left the country, and as many as half of these boat people perished at sea.

Tens of thousands dead in the re-education camps and millions fleeing the country with about a 50% survival rate.

More:

The number of inmates and death figures at the various camps are unclear due to the secrecy of the Vietnamese government. Crude estimates range from 500 000 to over 2 million inmates. Estimated death figures due to diseases, starvation, execution and working accidents range from tens of thousands to over 100 000 dead.

We’d know better about the victims of these re-education camps if the Vietnamese communists, like most socialists, weren’t busy covering up the atrocities and inefficiencies of their regime.  But the point is: A bloodbath did ensue in Vietnam after we gave up and abandoned the country, and Senator Kerry (much like the communists) is trying to cover it up for political expediency.

At least Senator Obama, one of Kerry’s Democrat colleagues, has the honesty to admit that his preferred foreign policy will result in genocide and that he doesn’t much care.

Thank-you, to those people in Ohio, if not for you this imitation of a man of personal integrity and devoid of logical thought could have been President.

And to all you Bushie haters, don’t come back with a comparison to our President. Justify this asshat’s comments.

Political Alzheimer’s.  Quite a common disease among lefties.

If govt control of the economy were the way to go, the Soviet Union would be the richest, most powerful nation in the history of the world.

Thanks to Obama, America remains the only country where it is illegal to drill our own oil!

Only a moron would consider this self-aggrandizing piece of donkey shit qualified to hold any elected office, much less the presidency.  Rather than sit on his sanctimonious ass in the Senate for the past 22 years, accomplishing absolutely nothing of significance, Kerry ought to have spent the time in a Federal penitentiary, serving a life sentence for his treason.

John Kerry is poster boy for the practice of “fragging,” and I have no doubt that had he served even half of his full tour of duty in Vietnam, he would likely have come home in a box.  Which would have been a substantial boost to the efforts of those who actually tried to win the war.

Harsh words Bat, but I think it needed to be said.

John Kerry is a piece of shit.

John Kerry is living in the past. He needs to take his sixties glasses off and step into this century. What a doofus… Is it just me OR are the Senators getting creepier?

I do not understnad the point if they want to kill each other so be it, Vietnam, Iraq or even Mexico for that matter having out troops stand as targets between them makes no sense to me.

richard on July 20, 2007 at 12:39 pm

Ken,

And deliberately so.  The last time I checked consorting with the enemy during hostilities, being present but not reporting a plot to assassinate government officials, and prominently attending and participating in political events while in uniform, are not only criminal violations by civilian law, but are also clearly violations of the UCMJ.  Just ask Adam Kokesh.

Indeed, the Kokesh case brings to mind Kerry’s deepest mystery and his most grotesque fabrication… his “original” discharge from the US Navy, which was almost certainly under less than honorable conditions and may very well have been a bad conduct or even dishonorable discharge.

Instead of enjoying the luxury of wealth by selectively marrying women who inherited the fruits of other, better men’s labors, John Kerry should still be in Leavenworth.  He betrayed those with whom he served.  Repeatedly.  My heartfelt contempt is the least he deserves.

Senator Kerry, we are that there was no bloodbath in Viet Nam because you and your phony Purple Hearts were already out of that country AND we ALL know what a savage fighter you were!  Another thing, you lost the election and I think the American people would like you to FINALLY GET OVER IT!!!!

Hundreds of thousands of South Vietnamese officials, particularly ARVN officers—Someguy

You’ve got to remember that these were traitors. They were illegally complicit in the slaughter in South Vietnam that led to a couple of million lives lost in the region. About 90% of the South Vietnamese supported Ho Chi Minh, but these officials were actively propping up a dictatorship, and helping with the slaughter of their own country men.

But still, I believe killing murderers and traitors is still morally wrong.

“Keynes had located the fundamental defect of the free market system in its incapacity to distinguish between `speculation’ and `enterprise.’ Hence, it had a tendency to be dominated by speculators, interested not in the long-term yield on assets but only in the short-term appreciation in asset values. Their whims and caprices, causing sharp swings in asset prices, determined the magnitude of productive investment and, therefore, the level of aggregate demand, employment and output in the economy. The real lives of millions of people were determined by the whims of ‘a bunch of speculators’ under the free market system.”—Prabhat Patnaik

Thanks for clearly illustrating that economics is not the only thing you are ignorant of.

I guess reeducation camps ain’t that bad which is why I reccommend each and every Obama supporter to enroll in one and if they resist they will simply be thrown in jail until they start thinking correctly.

Two million murdered in the killing fields?  He and Noam Chomsky suffer from the same disease:  selective memory.  Ask Kerry about his Christmas in Cambodia again.

No massive killing?  I guess in his view, since the entire country was not wiped out (ethnic cleansing)? there were no Massive killings.  Two Million murdered by the KR.  I just recently saw a picture in LT. Clebe McClary’s book, Living Proof, page 193, “Clebe at the Killing Fields, October 31, 1990.

This is the type of lies that communists foist on their slaves.  Re-education camps mean the same type of mass murder camps that the NAZI set up.  Not entirely to kill all people, but slave camps in fact.  They killed 6 Million people.  Stalin killed 7 Million Ukranians alone.

Lies from the communists.

No wonder they plan on implememnting the Fairness Doctrine in their 1st one hundred days…then there will be no more opposition to self-aggrandizing pieces of donkey shit like Kerry. They’ll lie and propagandize incessantly and continue to say to the American People:

Think MSNBC will offer equal time to Anne Coulter?  Michelle Malkin?  Sean? to offset their “talk TV” monopoly?  Oh, I forgot the defunct Air America woman.
