Senator Grassley: Bunning Is Right To Block Expansion Of Unemployment Benefits

I’ve been posting a lot about Senator Jim Bunning’s one-man stand against an expansion of unemployment benefits Democrats want to pass…but don’t want to actually budget for. They want to expand the entitlement and have it be a deficit on the budget whereas Bunning wants to pay for it by taking money out of the “stimulus” spending.
Despite all the flak Bunning is getting from the left/media about hurting American workers, Senator Chuck Grassley told Scott Hennen today he’s right to make this stand.

I’d like to see Bunning making this stand because unemployment entitlements are bad policy that inflate unemployment rates (paying unemployed people to be unemployed at the expense of those who do the hiring is monumentally stupid). But it’s nice to see someone like Bunning taking a principled fiscal stand on the issue, regardless.
