Senate Immigration Bill Stopped

For now anyway...

The Senate sidetracked sweeping immigration legislation Friday, leaving in doubt prospects for passing a bill offering the hope of citizenship to millions of men, women and children living in the United States illegally.

A carefully crafted compromise that supporters had claimed could win an overwhelming majority received only 38 of the 60 votes necessary to protect it from weakening amendments by opponents.

I am very, very happy about this.

Maybe now can focus on what is really important: Stopping the daily flow of new illegals into this country.

Puzzle, you should take along a digital camera and email the pictures.  I’ll post them up here.  Or, if you want, I could give you a posting account and you could put them up yourself.  Either way.  Might be nice to give SA readers an on-the-ground look from one of these protests.

Just email me (hit Contract Rob on the sidebar) and let me know.
