On a related note, I see Harry Reid is already jumping to the conclusion that we need to spend more tax dollars on infrastructure. I’d point out that it’s not a matter of how much we’re spending, but rather how we’re spending it.
After all, bridges collapsing while politicians use highway funds to fund personal pork projects (bridges to nowhere, million dollar bus stops, etc.) doesn’t mean we’re not spending enough money. It means we aren’t spending that money properly.
But Reid is a quintessential liberal. The only solution for any problem is to spend more and raise taxes.
This bridge collapse was tragic, but we shouldn’t let politicians like Reid use it as an excuse to stick another finger in our wallets. Tags: Domestic Issues, Politics
