Secret Necon Plan For Endless War In Iraq Exposed!

Or, more accurately, a plan for a permanent US presence in Iraq (to both uphold the elected Iraqi government and facilitate continuing anti-terror operations in the middle east which was one of the points of the whole war to begin with) along the lines of the on-going US presence in places like Germany, Japan and Korea.

Really, I’m surprised that anyone would be shocked at the idea of permanent US bases in Iraq.  Is the idea really a bad one?  I, personally, would like to see our global military deployments be more concentrated in the middle east as opposed to the cold war-era positions they’re in now.  Why not downsize our deployments in places like Germany and take advantage of the opportunity to put a permanent US presence in the heart of the middle east?

After all, the most serious threats that are facing this country now come from the middle east and not the now-defunct Soviet Union.

Comments

Liberal morons, we’ve had ‘permanent’ military presence in Japan and Germany since the end of WWII and in many other countries as well and that doesn’t seem to bother you.  Perhaps that is because it was mostly Democrat presidents that put them there. Hypocrits…

You don’t have to be a moron to be a liberal Democrat but it sure helps.

docdave on June 5, 2008 at 12:50 pm

Exactly!

This gives us permanent presence between two of the remaining state sponsors of terrorism.  It serves to help defend a fledgeling democracy.  It’s entirely consistent with our practices dating back to the Spanish American War.

Only hysterics ignorant of history would spin this as a dark and secret plot.

Millions murdered (yes, MURDERED) so you can continue to drive your 4x4 6-MPG trucks is NOT what we are supposed to be about!

US Citizen opines:

Millions murdered (yes, MURDERED) so you can continue to drive your 4x4 6-MPG trucks is NOT what we are supposed to be about!

If it were, as you claim, all about the oil, then we would be TAKING the entire Iraqi output at a price we set.  Got any evidence of that happening?

Get a clue, better yet one with handles.

I just gave you evidence, about 10 hours reading worth, with all sorts of sources to back up every statement. There, handles for the helpless and misled.

P.S. - The USA _IS ABOUT_ taking oil out of there at the prices that the Big Oil people set. The agreements are already being put in place. (http://www.upi.com/International_Security/Energy/Briefing/2008/03/06/iraq_big_oil_deals_could_clear_late-march/7106/)
What’s the next biggest producer next door? Iran. Read the State Controlled news lately? Looks like they (including Obama) want to blow them away too. And all because they “threaten Israel.” Right…

Please, become informed before waving your gun (or something else) and spouting off like you know what’s happening.

Ya know, “U.S. Citizen,” if your “sources” are about 10 hours’ worth of reading--a good chunk of “War and Peace,” for reference’s sake--then I dare suggest that maybe, just maybe, your source isn’t competent enough to write a decent summary of their evidence.  Moreover, maybe, just maybe, you’re dealing with someone whose goal isn’t as much to provide evidence as it is to distort it.

Millions?  Not by any decent measure.  And 6mpg 4x4?  Yes, we’ve got a bunch of those....OVER IN IRAQ chasing down Al-Qaida and other wastes of oxygen.  No nonmilitary 4x4 gets anywhere near that bad of mileage.  Try about 10mpg, and that for 1 ton with big block 8 or V10, or 15-20mpg for a half ton with small block V8.

If you can’t get basics like this right, exactly why should anyone trust you on the big stuff?

Bike Bubba on June 5, 2008 at 02:18 pm

And Iraqis are rather ambivalent about Coalition Forces remaining in Iraq. Mookie Sadr and Al Queda in Iraq are against it. Iraqi citizens, on the other hand, want to know how much money it will put in the national coffers, they don’t want to pay for troops’ billeting. They also want troops to be accountable for criminal activities under Iraqi civil law. Just as it is in Japan, Germany, Korea, Italy etc etc. Exactly how is that a problem?

The Iraqis will have another election in October, their fourth in about three years.  Then they will decide for themselves if they want our help and we can negotiate a SOFA agreement just like we have in Germany and other places around the world.  Let the light shine on their free press, their own people and their own government and stop trying to outguess what the “average Iraqi” is thinking.

No, the market sets the prices, you know supply and demand.  Thanks to you lefties in stopping new refineries from being built (the last one was around 30 years ago) and stopping new oil discoveries (must not dirty the environment), the supply has been kept artificially low while demand world-wide has risen and behold ‘the chickens have come home to roost’ as higher prices at the pump.

Millions murdered (yes, MURDERED) so you can continue to drive your 4x4 6-MPG trucks is NOT what we are supposed to be about!

According to data from the US Department of Energy, of the top five suppliers of crude oil to the US only one, Saudi Arabia, is a Middle East exporter. In March 2008, the US imported 1.795 million barrels per day (b/d) from Canada, 1.535 million b/d from Saudi Arabia, 1.214 million b/d from Mexico, 1.154 million b/d from Nigeria, and 858,000 b/d from Venezuela. These top five suppliers accounted for 68 percent of total US crude oil imports for that month.

When looking at the top ten foreign suppliers of crude oil to the US, only two more Middle East exporters make the list: Iraq (sixth), which exported 773,000 b/d to the US in March 2008, and Kuwait (tenth), which exported 199,000 b/d. The top ten suppliers of crude oil to the US accounted for 87 percent of total US imports for that month. Other importers that made up the top ten were Angola (sixth, 368,000 b/d), Algeria (seventh, 247,000 b/d), and Ecuador (eighth, 231,000 b/d).

From here, after a greuling 3 minute search.

So much for your theory, “US Citizen” - of course, I have no doubts that you think the DoE is part of the cabal.

You people (humans?) are unbelievable.

Leftist? Anti-capitilist? Really?

No. I just think people (humans again) should NOT die for profits.

I don’t think people should die for any religion.

I don’t think people should die for any form of “glory”

I think True free trade is good. I think small government is even better. Big government strangles free trade, and gives power to a few.

I think True personal freedoms are great. What we have in this country today is No Longer that.

I think military presence in other countries not directly threatening us is wrong.

I think soldiers protecting their country from attack is great. Really.

I think wannabe or has-been militant citizens with distant bloodlust for causes they are misled to by our current government are wrong.

I think we as Americans waste untold amounts of time and energy chasing things that have zero consequence of what really matters in life.

I think we waste natural resources.

I think we waste man-made resources.

I think that a very few humans are controlling your (and mine) lives for their profit.

I think that those few humans wouldn’t lose a minute of sleep keeping you under “their” guise of freedom, and sucking your last dollar from you. or breath.

I think the moment you rise up, and say, “Hey, wait a minute!” you’ll be jailed or killed or deported for dissent.

I think gun ownership by the individual is a great thing, and that person has the right to defend themselves and others against oppression of any sort.

I think the criminals primarily inhabit areas where the public is banned from gun ownership.

I think this country is over-regulated and so completely enveloped in Political Correctness, that we will never have a free voice again.

That’s all. For now.

I think if you believe the former, your steamboat has gone way round the bend.

I wouldn’t say that Iraq was ‘all’ for oil, but definitely a benefit for privatization by foreign companies. McSame endorses this idea, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMAlV3Fif8U&feature=related

Bike Bubba,

2Hotel9,

And Iraqis are rather ambivalent about Coalition Forces remaining in Iraq.

“A new WPO poll of the Iraqi public finds that seven in ten Iraqis want U.S.-led forces to commit to withdraw within a year. An overwhelming majority believes that the U.S. military presence in Iraq is provoking more conflict than it is preventing and there is growing confidence in the Iraqi army.”

http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/pdf/sep06/Iraq_Sep06_rpt.pdf

“A large bipartisan majority of Americans oppose permanent US military bases in Iraq and believe that most Iraqis are opposed as well...”

Nunez, I know you only skim things to find “facts” to fit your perverse biases, but you did notice that a) they polled a whopping 851 Americans b) a whopping 1150 Iraqis, and that the freaking polls are two years old.

Yep, that is some solid scholarship you trotted out - we on’t go into the obvious politcal bias of “WorldPublicOpinion.org”, though I have no doubts that no how matter how far left they are, they are still way to the right of you.

Wow, another delusional conspiracy theorist toddles through, followed by nunez. What a bunch of yahoos.

Plas Pete, that is my problem with all polls, and the one these knuckleheads keep trotting out is simply hilarious. It was done by an anti-war, anti-American group, it was done in Tikrit and Sadr City, and it was directed towards Ba’athists.

Notice that numbnuts has nothing of relevance to say, in 5 threads, nothing but tired assed leftard talking points. That have been refuted by the simple fact of the repeated defeats, crushing defeats, handed to his side in the war against terrorism. He continues to support the terrorists who target Muslim children and women. He sends his “charitable” donations to the terrorist organizations who target Muslim children and women. In every instance at this blog he gives 100% of his moral support to terrorists who directly target, with malice of forethought, Muslim women and children.

And yet it expects real human beings to take it seriously. What a joke.
